Seriously, what the **** is the point of all these skulls being put into the game?
Seriously, wtf is it with you whiners? Skulls are awesome-- awesome decorations, awesome atmosphere for adventure maps, and overall the ability to make withers is awesome. Minecraft needs more random and decorative items in the game. Stop getting angry, because the majority of the community openly accepts it, and wants more of the same path.
To irritate those who want better terrain To make you look cool for killing a bunch of people/mobs and to be used in a sucky method of summoning a boss.
To be honest? I don't know. It's a cool feature but if I were Jeb it wouldn't be a priority.
Aye, I agree with this.
Though, at the same time, more decorative blocks are really never a bad thing in Minecraft. There's more pressing matters I'd like to see addressed, but, wont hear me complaining about stuff like this. This one is a rather odd addition, but it's still pretty neat.
All I know is i had fun building a jumping puzzle out of them. Jumping on Steve Heads trying not to fall into lava? Oddly fun. lol
You know, that brings up an interesting question: Most of the heads make sense, as to where you get them from. Clobber skeletons for skeleton heads, defeat creepers, get creeper heads.
.......but the STEVE head? What? Is Steve just supposed to repeatedly jump off a cliff to his doom in the hopes that he gets his own rare drop of his own head?
HOW is that particular head going to be gotten? IS it even going to be in survival mode anywhere?
Well it might be a PVP thing... but also just sort of a random find after you die. Sort of a gift saying "Hey congratz! You retrieved your stuff... now you can wear your head on your head!" Which is just creepy.
Why do people hate on these sorts of additions? I mean I guess Minecraft doesn't need them... but I always love these sort of small additions.

Wtf why isn't Jeb working on low-quality/trashy content like the terrain, instead of worrying about putting decorations like this into the game? This should be the LOWEST priority for Jeb. Nuff said.
Why did he replace the 1.7.3(and older) terrain in the first place?
The thing is, Dinnerbone said that it won't drop in vanilla. You have to edit the NBT tag to get them. I wouldn't be surprised to see a mod for it, though.

Jeb isn't the one doing it. Nuff said.

Are you serious? If they only make wither skeleton heads drop in vanilla that wouldn't be fun, and minecraft is all about fun!
I believe he meant that or only th steve heads, and non mob head variations. Wither skulls, zombie, skeleton, and creeper heads should drop randomly from their respective mob. At least that's a reasonable option.
If this is not the case, then I'll be game to petition it to be.

Considering that the Reddit page there specifically has the screenshot of all of the different-skinned PLAYER heads on the wall, I'm inclined to agree with this.
The actual MOB heads, creepers and zombies and whatever, are likely to show in normal vanilla.
This is just an update focusing on an unaddressed need of the community: the need to mount the slain heads of enemies above your fireplace, like some creepy hunter.
Also, you can't exactly say jeb and Dinnerbone had a "villager fetish" when they let them breed, trade, and open doors. (At least I hope not.)

Notch did that.
Go hate him. Notice that he also quit a few months after doing that.
I wonder. Maybe statue blocks will be possible in the future. It would be so cool to be able to have whole statues using heads as a crafting recipe.
