It would be nice if we could stack two different kind of slabs ontop of each other, but right now that isnt important. What is more important now is getting half slabs for all blocks that mack sense to have it.

I get you on the first half, but the second half loses me.
I cannot imagine needing anymore slabs. *Maybe* wool slabs, but I would rather my carpet to be based on the "snow tile" block.
Can anyone suggest an interesting slab?

Glass and Glowstone. We could finally make glowstone steps! And could you imagine a beautiful glass staircase leading into the sky? Epic
Nether Brick. And half slabs for all damage values of stone brick.

nether brick is an obvious one
obsidian (and stairs, and possibly add a smooth, shiny version)
iron, gold, diamond, lapis, and emerald blocks (for those, to reclaim the block, craft two slabs one on top of the other)
