Believe it or not redstone, not everything Mojang adds is perfect. People have their own views on what should be added or not, and they will complain when it doesnt happen. Stop being such a drone, people can complain if they dont feel satisfied with a commercial product that they paid for.
There is such as thing as excessive complaining and complaining for no good reason at all, wether or not you want to admit it. Just reads Jeb's tweets the fact that anyone would even try and argue about this shows just how much they like to complain. Jeb clearly said there was too much complaining.
Also people seem to have the impression that because they paid for the game the developers have to implement things exactly as they want them, however they only bought the game - they didn't hire Mojang
Also, Redstone, you made a reply to my thread which has since been hidden. Did you catch my response, or do you have anything else to say to what I wrote on page 2? (which my thread was basically a reiteration of)
I forget exactly what I said. It was something along the lines of what's below:
I can't believe how many people seriously think this is the community's fault. If you complained about somebody's hygiene and they stopped showering just to spite you, wouldn't you think they were an asshole?
This is a really bad comparison.
Complaining about someone's disgusting hygeine who doesn't shower to spite you compared to complaining about Jeb taking into consideration all of the communities opinions and producing a snapshot with all of the things they have been asking for in it.... are two very, very different things.
Jeb also didn't remove it out of spite read the quotes I posted on my OP.

I have no problem admitting that. Like I said, people complain about everything, all the time. In fact I'm pretty sure the Ender Chest has been getting more complaints than emerald ore ever did. The only difference between this and every other update ever is that Jeb actually had a very specific reason for doing something the community found strange, but failed to tell them. I can't say for sure since I was not actually among the people asking for more common ore, but I'd think I would have stopped asking immediately if I understood his intentions.
When complaints become too much to handle -- like, they're actually abnormally persistent -- it's usually a sign that something is genuinely wrong.

Yeah, that's it.
The shower was just an analogy. I'm not making a literal comparison between what Jeb did and not showering, but the principle is the same: how silly it is to blame someone for someone else's irrational behavior.
And while I might not actually go so far as to say Jeb did it out of spite, I think his motives at least pretty questionable. He claims this is the best solution, but he isn't actually doing what anyone wants, and he isn't even saving himself any trouble by inviting even more complaints to have the ore re-added. (I think you should read some of the other posts on this subject though, because there are actually kind of a lot of people that believe this is a way of sticking it to the complainers.)

If you read his reddit message he gives several reasons for why he removed it.
1) Excessive Complaining
2) Removes the confusion over how to obtain emeralds
3) The ore isn't actually needed so removing it doesn't affect game-play
He claims this is the best solution, but he isn't actually doing what anyone wants, and he isn't even saving himself any trouble by inviting even more complaints to have the ore re-added.
Wether or not it's saving him any trouble is debatable. It just seems to me that he figured that this would be the best solution to the problem at that point in time.
(I think you should read some of the other posts on this subject though, because there are actually kind of a lot of people that believe this is a way of sticking it to the complainers.)
Well, the people who are upset at the complainers have a legitimate point. Jeb said the emerald ore was removed due to excessive complaining and nobody likes to hear people complain constantly even under normal circumstances.
The complainers were clearly a major reason why the emerald ore was removed, so I really don't blame anyone for being PO'ed.
Why do you keep requoting his posts as if I'm not reading them? He thinks people were complaining excessively -- they weren't, they were complaining as per usual from what I could tell. The only thing that was different about this situation was that he had a specific reason for doing what he did, which he didn't explain, and got upset when people didn't intuitively understand. Simply telling us "Yeah, I know, it's supposed to be rare because of X" would have quelled a lot of the complaints and removed any confusion. I see no reason why ignoring whomever refused to read it would be any more difficult than ignoring the mountain of complaints about everything else that we have now, including some stuff that actually matters (which I would much rather have his attention devoted to).
You clearly don't agree with what I'd said since you still seem to think it's our fault. When I said "legitimately wrong," I meant with the game itself. As in we actually have just cause for complaining. Like when Endermen turned our houses into Swiss cheese. It's irrelevant anyway because that's not what happened here.
I thought emerald(ore) was a good choice to be added into the game...
People just don't get why it is rare...
Well... for me. i think why Jeb made the ore generate in Hills(Extreme Hills Edge) because
Hills doesn't have this feel.. or the enjoyment to mine there(except for coal and Iron)
When people get Diamonds, they brag to everyone( maybe not everyone and please don't take this as an offence)
Emeralds were meant to be a "nice find" ... as Jeb stated....
People are just crybabies overall and when something doesn't go their way, they bi**h and complain about it, especially if they're between the ages of 7-10 and have had their every whim waited on and every wish granted. I truly HATE the younger generation.

Or maybe... maybe a public forum just naturally attracts this kind of attention. Maybe people with strong opinions tend to be more vocal than those who are content. Maybe the **** you read here isn't actually representative of the entire community, and maybe you shouldn't generalize an entire generation based on two or three complaint threads. Maybe, just maybe, game developers could try using their judgement and decide for themselves when a complaint is in the best interest of the community, instead of treating them all indiscriminately as whining and making themselves deaf to the feedback they asked their customers to provide.
Or maybe not. All that "thinking for yourself" sounds pretty hard.
Anyway, I'm glad this whole thing is over. Cue the release of the next snapshot and the complaints that will inevitably follow.

"Stupidity is contagious. Just look at humanity today!"
Apparently you've caught the disease.
Every generation has had something they felt passionately about and regardless of what it is(music, video games, ect.) people are always going to be vocal. You're generation did it and so is ours.
Doesn't matter what age you are. You know what you like and you know why you like it. Its not a crime to complain when something you like is messed up. Its the way things work. Without complaints nothing would ever be changed for the better.
It has nothing to do with bitching just to *****(although in some cases people do just enjoy complaining). The majority of people complaining want to see what they feel strongly about become the best that it can be. And in this case its a video game.

I'm usually not trying to be rude. So if a post comes across that way then sorry :]

But, it's not because people are going to keep whining and complaining about nothing.

This is whining:
Praise be to Spode.
Some people say that complaining actually got it re-implemented, however a petition is far from complaining.
