Is it just me or is the new chicken AI retarded? The chickens used to run around like crazy after being pushed onto a fire block. Now, some of them run, but alot of them end up just standing on the fire block to die.
This new AI has decreased the efficiency of my automatic chicken cookers I haven't been able to find any design that yields >90% efficiency now

Yeah, they do seem to stand in place when on fire now. You could always build a piston&lava based chicken cooker instead, that seems to work at about 99% efficiency for me.

Are you pushing the chickens through a lava blade?
Are you pushing the chickens through a lava blade?
Yeah, one double piston extender to push them in and another piston next to the lava blade to quickly push them out before their drops burn. I'd add a picture but I'm not sure how to add one directly from my computer.

The redstone to set it up is fairly straightforward, the timing isn't even much of an issue. It just gives the chickens a quick push in and the cooked chicken a quick push out of the lava. In lower volumes, 10 to 20 chickens, it'll rarely burn any drops. Start cramming 64+ chickens though and you'll see a higher percentage of drops being burned.

This design by xisumavoid will probably be a bit less glitchy. Since it doesn't push the mobs around at all, nothing can really go wrong. It's also more compact and makes less noise.
I don't think that will work with chickens though because chickens die in lava almost instantly

Thanks <3
Ah, thanks, here's a picture of it then.
Sweet thanks! I'll give that a try
