I'm actually finding them all the time, they are very quiet and they are very small. So then can even hide in a 1x1 space so they are very difficult to see.
thanks im trying to find notherone

An experiment went terribly wrong. Can you escape?
They spawn and despawn sometime, when you find one mark the place, if you can´t catch it then return the marked place, clean the sopot (leaves, wood) and return in some minecr4aft days, maybe they are there.
I believe one good trick is to create some small clearings in the jungle. I often see the Ocelots exploring and they seem to enjoy small flat open spaces.
Here is a picture of an Ocelot that got caught running through my base. My base is very open and they run around the rooms All the time.
The Ocelot is by the crates. This little guy got stuck and wouldnt move until I reloaded the game.
I guess Ocelots don't spawn on peaceful. I searched in feaceful mode for over 4 hours and never found one...
after changing to easy.. i fount 2 in less than 10 minutes
if you go to the wiki and read up on ocelots, it'll tell you that they 'will never spawn in peaceful difficulty; to find them the player must be playing on easy difficulty or higher. Unlike other passive mobs, ocelots (but not tamed cats) can also despawn when far enough away from the player.'
another problem may be that they are spawning inside of bushes. Have you had your sound up?
So ive been playing 1.2 for 3 days now set up a HQ and went out to find me a couple of Ocelots, I found my first Jungle biome and searched through it for a good 2 3 hours grid patterns coverd the place 2 3 times and no Ocelots, so I got fed up went off to find another, sure enough I did and same thing searched for several hours and nothing, I just found my third jungle biome and started to look up tips and tricks but cant find much, Just wondering if anyone else other than me is having this hard of a time?
Contrary to other neutral or friendly mobs, Ocelots disappear after a short while if they are too far from the player. Also, they are generated only quite rarely. So your way is not how to find them!
The best way to quickly get ocelots:
OCELOT PLATFORM:
Step 1 - Build a dirt stairway (3 wide for better results) going from ground level grass blocks up to treetops level, so that grass will be brought to grow where you will build your platform. If you have the silk touch enchantment, just bring Grass blocks and skip this step.
Step 2 - Build a dirt platform high in the jungle, flat, above everything else, anywhere from 32 to 64 on a side (doesn't need to be square), and surround it with fences (because ocelots and cats can fall down from any height without damage, so without such fences you probably won't catch them). Of course, you need some form of easy access to your platform, so making the top of the platform located at the top of a tall giant jungle tree is a good idea. Put enough torches to light up the platform, so hostile mobs won't spawn.
Step 3- Every time you want to try to get ocelots, kill off as many of the animals in the area as possible. This will encourage the game to spawn new animals, and *rarely* you'll get a new ocelot. If the game has already spawned enough animals, it stops generating anymore, and this means zero new ocelot. Kill "permanent'" animals like chickens, pigs, sheep and cows, that you see wandering in the entire platform area
*including at ground level or in caves*. You don't need to kill them all either, but most respawned animals will not be ocelots, so kill them too to make room for new animals spawnings to get a chance for an ocelot.
Step 4 - When you see ocelots on your platform, sneak slowly to approach one, with fish in had. About 12 blocks away, alternate between sneaking one block closer and holding still for a bit. About 9 blocks away, you now alternate between moving only half a block while sneaking and holding still a bit longer. AS SOON AS the ocelots turns straight towards you, you stop and wait for it to sneak to you, then give him a fish. and another, and another, until he is tamed. It may be tamed on the first try but it may also take up a LOT of fishes to tame the ocelot, so bring enough!
I usually find them around the borders of jungles and near deep rivers or ponds of water. There's still one question I have to ask to all of you posters: Can Ocelots spawn in peaceful, or do they only spawn in easy/normal/hard?

Since ocelots can't damage the player they spawn in peaceful.
Ocelots are quite rare, as are wolves. It depends which version you are using, the first few versions had HEAPS of ocelots. And I mean HEAPS. I had about 13 cats on one world.

They do spawn on peaceful. You just took time to set it to easy, and in that time of being still they spawned.
I have spent weeks looking for Ocelots!!! I am about to give up! I have done everything people have suggested-burning down an area of the jungle, putting chickens in a dug out and walked and walked and walked and .........NOT FUN!

Are you aware that this was posted three months ago? I'm sure he's found an ocelot by now.

N-n-n-n-nerco bump!

You don't say. 'Oh hey look a lava pool in this cave I'm in! Oh look, a family of fire ocelots!'
