So I like it when a golem farm is in the same village I live in. In 1.13 I had all the doors placed symmetrically so that golems spawned only in a fountain (a sinkhole to death trap) in the center of my village. I had to keep some villagers in place to see all the doors at all times, but it worked perfectly at full efficiency.
In 1.14 golems are spawning all over the place, so I need another design. I have an idea to lure golems to a sinkhole via showing them a zombie, but the question is what is Golems' detection radius to see a zombie and chase it? Maybe I will need a cart with a zombie running around to reach all the places (the village is quite big)
Or maybe someone has another idea to make it work in a free open village? I dont mind the iron per hour rates
Also is there a way to stop golems from spawning inside homes besides 2-high ceiling? Because 2 high ceilings are plain stupid as well as golems inside homes. Maybe some carpets will work?
I don't think there is any way to control where golems spawn without locking up the villagers, if I remember correctly the Wiki claims that a golem spawns near the villager that started the gossip.
Carpets probably won't work, at least before 1.14 golems could spawn in transparent blocks like slabs, stairs and water as long as there was a solid block underneath.
It may be that is changing, I think people have been complaining about golems spawning inside walls and stuff.
You might be able to get golems to spawn in a celler under the village by making the entire village out of bottom slabs and stairs and stuff, that would include walls and would mean there would be nowhere to place doors. And there have been claims that villagers have been unable to pathfind over slabs, not sure whether that's been fixed.
Well their detection radius is pretty bad but the design is working wonderfully. Zombie coaster is a thing I had one sinkhole for them, but for 90x90 town it was not enough. I also tried to launch zombie coaster around all the town, but although zombie do capture their attention, they are too slow to keep up, so I added another 2 sinkholes, and now they all urge to their demise. Two flies with one hit, or how it was in Sweden - the golem problem is solved and I have fully automatic iron farm in a huge free village with rates far above I had in 1.13.2 (single village)
Ah yes and dont forget to place a roof above your zombie coaster, a helm wont save them

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

Just testing.
And what about golems' zombie detection range? Which distance it must be from golem for it to detect zombie?
Also Im starting to think, if villagers will constantly see a zombie inside their home they might be too busy to spawn golems
I don't know about golems, why not test it on a creative world?, but villagers don't seem to be bothered by zombies until they get rather close.
Just testing.
