Started a new single player survival game in the latest snapshot a couple of weeks ago. All was going well up until today. I took the update to 19w12b and started playing. But when I went to bed the screen faded to black and I suffocated to in a wall. My base is a tunnel cut into the side of a mountain going down to my mines. My bed chamber is a 3 X 3 X 3 room off to the side with a bed in one corner. When I respawned I was outside directly above my bed chamber. My gear was scattered around the bedchamber inside. The bed was functioning normally in the 19w11 snapshots.
Beds do seem to be behaving oddly in the latest snapshot. I was traveling to a Village a few thousand blocks from my house and crashed in one of their houses for the night. When morning came I took one hit of suffocation damage and was placed outside the house, rather than in the empty space next to the bed.

Yeah it looks like there are several bugs currently about being pushed into or through walls after sleeping.

I nearly died from fall damage due to sleeping in a bed, back in 1.10 or so (may have been a little earlier). I had been building a multi-story farm structure, and had just completed the framing. It was turning sunset and I had already stocked up with the dirt and seeds and stuff to put in the floors, but I had my travelling bed with me and didn't feel like climbing back down and running into the house to sleep. I placed the bed on the 1-block wide strip that the walls would be resting on, and I figured with the empty space in front of the bed and behind it I'd be fine...nope. The game actually walked me off the side of the frame trying to autopath me to the side of the bed so I could properly climb into it and since there was no block for me to walk on I fell all the way to the ground about 19 blocks below.
I laughed so hard at that, until a zombie came into view and one-shotted me while in the sleep screen.

Might be a glitch but in general I've found no matter what version of Minecraft to have at least one block clear space on all sides of a bed.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

Maybe that worth a bug report. Or was this issue already raised on the bug tracker?
Please, support the sledgehammer tool!
I ♥ Linux. Thanks Mojang for providing a game that runs natively on that OS!

Almost the same story here:
I slept in the bed and the morning, I wake up outside the house, full of mobs.
I guess I go through the wall and the window.
