We don't know that they *are* splitting the crafting table. (Other than the loom and the cartography table, which are arguably necessary and definitely niche.)
The new furnace types, for example, are entirely optional; nobody is forced to use them. The new crafting stations may be the same way for all we know at this point.
And if they are splitting up the crafting table, is that so bad? Has it ever really made sense to make armor with something made out of four planks?
Yes, yes it does make sense to make armor with something made out of 4 planks. Otherwise you just overly complicate it for no reason. The nice thing about Minecraft was it's simplicity when it came to crafting: one block that can craft any item in the game.
The more blocks needed to craft different items the more clutter there is. The more steps needed to make something the more tedious it becomes to make it. If the item is no different than one made now with a crafting table it's just more steps for no reason. If a loom, for example, allows you to put patterns on something like a rug, that's different than making a rug on a crafting table, so more steps would make sense. But just making a rug on a loom that you could have made on a crafting table doesn't make sense. Essentially, the point is if the item is exactly the same as made on a crafting table, what's the point? The only point to having additional steps would be the ability to customize them, otherwise it's not necessary.

Just waiting for Forge to officially release for 1.13.x to remove unneeded mobs from 1.13, like Phantoms, from the game because, in my gameplay based opinion, they add nothing of value to the game.
Fun fact: Clicking a bed every 30 minutes doesn't make you a better player, it makes you one who clicks a bed every 30 minutes. Wouldn't you rather just mod them out of the game completely?
The Composter is a welcome addition! Finally, a way in vanilla to get rid of the immense amount of seeds a farm produces without just throwing them in lava or filling up chests.
Plus, it's a way to get bone meal without having to kill skeletons. And unlike seeds, bone meal is 1) useful, and 2) has a storage block.

And I think this is just another less tedious way of collecting bone meal for people playing in peaceful.
I chose "strongly dislike". I downloaded the snapshot then went and got myself a snack. When I came back, my laptop's fan was going crazy and was it really hot to the touch. And that was just on the title screen.
I never thought I'd see the day when I couldn't even play vanilla Minecraft.
Guess I'll just go back to my 1.7.10 version with its 80+ mods, hundreds of mobs, weapons, armor, food, dozens of dimensions, etc. because my computer has no problem handling that.

I don't see the point you are trying to make here, are you complaining am unfinished unstable modern version of the game doesn't run as well as a 5 and a half year old version? Cause pretty sure that was bound to happen
Im not complaining at all, but where are the foxes!?
Yeah I'm waiting for them! Knowing my luck they'll probably be the last thing they add :P! But hopefully that means they're making them properly awesome and do something unique as a sort of counterpart to wolves!
On the Wiki! Well, specifically, Apparently everywhere, and it May-currently be wrong about their - New(est, the Mob) - Trades being Biome-real, er -related.
Really. If you want to Experiment with them, you might want to use - Creative Mode - Spawn Eggs, to check them out (before they "check out" - Despawn - on their own, whether you Find them or not).
The first being that when the "Programmer Art" texture pack says it's "the classic look of Minecraft" it should have the classic look of the villagers, not the abomination they put in there.
The second one is the basic take two of the same item type to repair them should be left in the basic crafting ability. Secondary crafting tables should offer more/enhanced crafting ability that wasn't available before, but the basics that have always been available in the 2x2 and 3x3 crafting boxes should remain there. In this way you don't need additional crafting boxes just to simply do what you did before. When you start removing the basic crafting table's ability to craft items they were always able to craft just to add them to a new crafting table you add clutter and start over-complicating the process. For example, in 13.2 and before if I wanted to make 4 pick-axes and run into my mine and wear them down to just under half and then use the 2x2 crafting box to repair them and end up with 2 full durability pick-axes I could. With the change I now am required to make a grindstone and carry it with me at all times to have the same capability, or make one and set it up in a specific place and constantly run back to it just to do the same thing I could do before without the extra steps. Only if you want the enhanced ability to strip the enchantments off for XP should you actually need to use a grindstone.
I do a lot of fishing, and get a lot of bows and fishing poles. Out of those I glean ones I need to make additional enchanted bows and fishing poles. currently, in 13.2, I use the 2x2 crafting box to combine the rest into unenchanted fully repaired versions to fix the infinity bows I use via the anvil. With the change I either have to build a grindstone just to do that at the fishing spot, or carry them back to the main base and use a grindstone set up there just for the basic ability available prior to version 14 snapshots. Again, if you want the enhanced ability to gain XP back from the process, the grindstone, but if all you are interested in is the more repaired version, a grindstone should not be required as the ability for that should be left in the basic 2x2 and 3x3 crafting tables.

I love the pillagers, zombie seiges weren't much of a threat but these bandits on the hand. They're pretty deadly and it's up to the player build up the defense.
Their spawning is really great too. I've been working on a massive airship with a city on it and these pillagers can actually spawn ON it. Building defenses for these pillager raids is extremely fun.
I haven't played this game in a very long and to come back to this, it's honestly a breath of fresh air.
I feel like the pillager raids are going to be incredibly annoying for me, but oh well. My real bone to pick is how they're getting rid of the ability to turn VBOs off. My laptop HAS to have them off in order to not crash, and while my desktop CAN run it with them on, it's incredibly laggy. I don't really have the funds to get new stuff at the moment, so I guess I'm not playing any of the newer versions for quite a long time. ;(

I think in the final version 1.14, the crafting table will be used only to craft different crafting tables.

And I think this is almost certainly untrue. I think in the final version, the existing crafting table will still craft the vast majority of recipes.

I'm sure it's indeed very useful for Peaceful players, but it's useful for me too.

My eight-year-old laptop can play the snapshots just fine. How old is yours?
These are some pretty neat-o snapshots! Can't wait to see what the release of 1.14 will bring!

My guess is that a lot of people have been out of office since before Christmas.
They're probably, you know.. "getting real." You know, as opposed to "Faux."
Onto the other. Real, news.

I like new stairs but I feel it's not enough.
How about terracotta stairs and slabs.
