Sharks will not attack unless provoked in real life, so they would be neutral.
That's sort of true, but sharks use their teeth the way humans use their hands and eyes. If they don't know what it is and it's not registering as a dangerous unknown, they'll go up and make a test bite to see if it's food or not. Since shark teeth are sharp and most anything that moves is pretty squishy, this can result in bad things.
But, yeah, sharks with vendettas only really exist in hollywood movies starring teen-drama alumni.

Besides minecraft isn't real and it don't need to act real. Most likely sharks being a neutral mob being added would have less of a impact on the community.
If you have mistakes in something you create and don't like them yet release the thing you created to people. then you are letting yourself down and the people you send it to down. -SonicJDF
Dear Mojang, please add Aardvark and Albatross and Alligator and Angelfish and Ants and Anteater and Antelope and Arctic Fox and Armadillo and Axolotl and Aye Aye
And Baboon, Badger, Barnacle, Bear, Beaver, Beetle, Birds Of Paradise, Bison, Bobcat, Bonobo, Buffalo, Butterfly.
And .... well ... that's A and B covered...mostly...
Way too many mobs to be added. Also a butterfly thats cubes? That would just look weird.

They aren't adding sharks because they couldn't figure out how to attach the "laser beams" to their heads.
Why would they do that? Sounds dumb and would not fit with the game.

It's definitely stupid, however Minecraft can still have a dangerous sea mob, it just doesn't have to be a shark, it can be something alien looking and weird, however this is Mojang we are talking about, creativity is not something they're good at anymore.
Also Mojang doesn't seem to like actually adding a lot of content, this isn't Terraria where after an update you can replay the game and have a totally brand new experience, at most I see them adding a few blocks and a useless/rare creature that is copy pasted from real life (Lamas, Polar bears) and it would probably happen after a year or two of "development".
There was already a chance for them to add 4 creatures, one of which would have made the seas much more dangerous (just like sharks would) but instead they made the community choose only 1 creature because Mojang can't be bothered to add content into their game, and so you have the New mob B that from the sounds of it won't be seen all that much.
The reason as to why sharks won't be added is probably the stupidest thing I've ever read. Even the "Ridley not being in Smash Bros. because he's too big" thing has reasonable logic behind it. The reason for why sharks won't be added is just plain bullcrap.

so that if you dont want sharks then just change to easy mode.
but i think sharks totally should be added to minecraft.
like in deep waters.
Or maybe add them as a hardcore mob? Sense hardcore is way to easy.

Microjang's logic is so inconsistent and lop-sided! Let's add all of their flawed logic into MInecraft, shall we?
Oh, look! You broke a tree! Whoops, wood is removed from minecraft. Whoops, every animal is removed from minecraft. Whoops, you can't build stuff- you see what I mean?
Sharks are not the only endangered species, and I think we have covered that already, but I want to bring something new to the table. Dolphins, the new mob being added to 1.14. There are a lot of kinds of dolphins that are ENDANGERED. Sound familiar? Of course it does.

dont look at this

I suggest some remedial sarcasm classes.
why no shark? what going on?
I'm sure too many of us have joked about wanting sharks so we could have a shark tank to drop nitwits and other villagers with bad trades into them.
OK was that just me? Sorry guys
Ah, I had the same idea, but in a throne room, for when the jester fails to entertain.

Or just add them as a neutral mob and by changing the difficulties it will become a hostile mob. But it's not going to be added anyway so who cares.
I do not think they put them, why do you think this thread has been made?
