For a long time Minecraft has continued to be updated over and over again, and there's already talk of 1.14, but will Minecraft always be 1.something? I realize that for Minecraft to have a version 2.0 it would have to change significantly, like it did between Alpha and Beta, which brings me to my other point, instead of making Minecraft Beta 1.0 why not make it Minecraft 2.0? (which would mean we'd be playing 2.12.2 (that's a funny thought)). Anyway, will Minecraft ever change enough to become 2.0?

Minecraft is a ever changing game and will most likely never have a 2.0 version due to a update so big would most likely cause a huge crowd to leave the game what they would most likely to do if they were to do a 2.0 is release it version by version at small updates at a time to see what people would love about the update these would be snapshots also another reason is minecraft changing so big would most likely not be supported on moble/console/bedrock editions of the game due to how huge it is alot less people would buy the game. But this is just my opinion so I can't really ever say it will change enough in one update to become 2.0 and thats also if minecraft survives that long! A update comes out every year to get to that is were on 1.10 if we kept at this rate it would take a extremely long time to reach this. then they have to worry bout people being able to run it and also java being able to support all the items so I would say a no. Unless they really wanted to change minecraft to a whole new level. (Sorry for all the spelling errors I am quite aware of them and I do not know how to fix them so don't judge)
If you have mistakes in something you create and don't like them yet release the thing you created to people. then you are letting yourself down and the people you send it to down. -SonicJDF
Yeah! Minecraft 2,0 or maybe Minecraft 2 would use a new engine more like from the sims 2 to 3.
A minecraft 2 would be a terrible idea due to minecraft being a game that can be expanded + they already did this with windows 10 edition it is a new engine

someone's actually suggesting a Minecraft 2 over in the suggestions forum, and the reason for so is that A. interest in minecraft will dwindle, and B. with all he is introducing, along with massive code rewrites, it would just be better to do a new update

I meant Minecraft 2 would look more reality, not blocky. Of course it would take more powerful computers to run it.
Minecraft win 10 and Java look the same beside the one uses Java and other, C++.

Minecraft 2... The Universal Sandbox Game.
Instead of a [vanilla] single world with 2 dimensions..
it'll be Multiple Worlds with Multiple Dimensions with Multiple Enviroments and new multiple skills to be discovered........ no more Mods
Oh & since it's now belongs to Microsoft... to get to these you'll need to buy in-game access to these new features
