So i made my first 1.12 world, and my power went out as the world was loading, but it was there when i got turned back on, and found myself in a pure survival world...but trapped...
as you can see by the screenshots, i was on a 1x7 block floating island. with solid stone under me. When i reloaded the world, as a new save, with the same seed, i spawned in the same general area, but on a nearby hill.
I found this rather amusing, and was wondering if its a glitch because the power went out, or if 1.12 might have some interesting quirks? Certainly gives anew meaning to survival island though!
As a note, the one spot without snow is where i spawned. on block away from certain doom!
Assuming the recreated world was otherwise identical it was random chance that you spawned on the floating blocks; while the world spawn point is always the same players randomly spawn within a 21x21 area centered around it, so if you die and respawn or recreate the world again you might just spawn on it again (or not, enabling such a situation to be gotten out of). Conversely, if you play a Skyblock-type map and the player spawn point is not fixed you might have to respawn many times before you respawn on the island (in either case it is a good idea to remove any potential hazards if you find the world spawn point to be risky; sleeping in a bed will eliminate the risk due to spawning at random locations).
