But I personally like Elytra but..
They should spice up the nether too its so barren, its been around before the end.

I wish it didn't lose durability, and instead penalized you by having fall damage increased the longer you fly.
It can't actually break, when it hits zero durability it just turns into a "broken" state until you repair it with an anvil or collect exp when it has mending. Just put mending and unbreaking on it and you won't have to worry about the durability.

When I first heard about the Elytra, I thought of it as something that would not work out well, even if balanced, mostly due to it just not being something that would fit or work out, but now that I've tried it I've completely fallen in love with the Elytra.
I've not played with the elytra too much but my kid has. The other day I was building a castle and had just completed (and opened) the gate when I heard him holler "WHEEEEEEE" and he zipped past me and crashed on the ground at the gate trying to fly through it.....
A bonus is he's getting a grasp of relative coordinates to quickly teleport himself to a position high enough to get some distance gliding with the elytra!
Incidentally I need to play around more with the command blocks in the snapshots as I can't seem to get anything but the impulse to work as I expect. The new versions SHOULD help cut back on the number of command blocks I use for gate operations if I can just figure them out....
is cool, i would add one feature to it, maybe if there is a fire below you the hot current should push you up so that you can continue flying more time.
Oh yeah! Riding thermals would be cool!!!!
The physics involved may be a little more than what they've got in Minecraft right now though.
In my opinion it would be better if when you give it to a zombie the elytra will not be invisible and have the body animation just like players.
Yeah, I noticed almost all, if not all mobs are capable of using the Elytra. I wish it did that, I also wish the mobs would actually use their pathfinding skills while gliding, too, instead of just smashing their faces into walls.

But smashing their faces into walls makes them look more like players..............
I love Elytra and I just spawn it with creative mode and fly around
What about you?
What is your opinion on Elytra?
Sounds great.
EDIT: It is great!!! I spend hours just flying with it, and I recently made a sky battle with some friends using the levitation effect and the elytra.
I think it was a great addition. People always wanted flying in survival and Mojang managed to implement less overpowered alternative.

I enjoy the Elytra, but I'm of the opinion that it's rather impractical in Survival Mode.

Oh, that's actually fantastic!

The elytra is a great way to travel short distances when you are in a mountainous region. it also saves you from a lot of falling damage
