Am I doing something wrong, or are Enderman no longer attacking endermites in the recent update? I spawned it in with enderpearls myself and they have a clear line of sight to it, but they don't seem to care that it's there.
They removed the function of Endermen nailing those adorable yet funny car looking things that I call boris and doris a while ago. Probably to prevent new Enderman farms. I'm not too sure why.
Thanks. I saw some videos as recent as November 2014 that used this behavior and thought it was safe to try it out. Oh well. At least it didn't take too long and too many resources.
I'm aware that the minecart has to be raised so they have proper line of sight. I did that, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it in the latest release because they aren't attacking it.
They seem to be working okay in 1.8.3 ... at least, I was using an enderman farm which I believe was built with the endmermite system on a MP server running 1.8.3 yesterday, and it was delivering endermen faster than I could kill them.
The top slabs needed to be two and a half high for the enderman to be able to care about the endermite. I mistakenly put them at 2 high. Works perfectly now. Sorry for the false alarm.
If your are close enderman will focus the player, not the endermite - and they care only for endermites spawned from ender pearls, not from spawn eggs.
Figured it was time for a change.
