So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Two hands is an interesting mechanic, and it seems to have lots of usefulness. At the moment I have to take a lot of time scrolling back and forth between sword and torches while mining, trying to deal with mobs and the dark simultaneously. Instead I could put torches in my offhand slot and place them even while having a sword out. Same with all kinds of blocks.
It's been 277 days since the release of 1.8 and months past their previous "promise" for first snapshots...don't get your hopes up for any time this year or next.
Yeah, it is. He clearly has two swords; one in each hand. In order to have both the swords equipped, he needed to dual-wield them at some point. They are not technically lying, since they never mentioned dual attacking as far as I remember.
(Assume right hand is dominate, and primary key is left click)
Left hand has enderpearl, right hand has dirt.
Left click will punch with the dirt. Right click will place the dirt. (Or attempt to place it if you aren't looking at ground)
Left hand has a fish, right hand has a sword.
Left click with slash with sword, holding down right click will eat the fish.
Left hand has a sword, right hand has nothing.
Left click will punch with right hand, right click does nothing.
In other words, left click will always attack/mine with the right hand, and right click will attempt to perform an action with the right hand item, but if it has none (like a sword) it will perform it with the left hand item instead.
Ah. That makes sense. It's less OP because you can't use a bow and a sword at once, and it makes more sense because that's how it works IRL.
I was thinking about bows from a Minecraft perspective when I said that, not a real world perspective.
My thoughts exactly.
1.9 whooptie doo, same old crap, new version #.
Game will still be as stale as it was a year ago.
wake up Mojang..
...
...That was disgusting.

So is Mojang's ability to produce anything interesting in over a year.
Working sponges, slime blocks, armour stands, dual wielding. These are all within the last year and interesting.
Please don't PM me asking for help, I will just redirect you to the appropriate forum, where there are others who are far more skilled than me.

Properly
I think you can`t hold a map and something else at the same time, since from first person map requires two hands.

Edit: So it's left and Right clicking for the different hands?
But some combinations don't work...
And sometimes right click is your main hand and sometimes its your left depending on what items you have
Read his tweet explaining it. (https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/606438717893570560)If you read that and don't understand, then here:

Left hand has enderpearl, right hand has dirt.
Left click will punch with the dirt. Right click will place the dirt. (Or attempt to place it if you aren't looking at ground)
