I have a pretty good PC, but with the latest snapshot, I got weird framerate drops looking to the side.
Looking straight down got me 60 FPS, looking straight up got me 60 FPS, but to the side was about 30 FPS... Why is that?
The spoiler has the F3 menu up, and if you need my PC Specs, I can list them. And I had Clouds off, 22 Chunk Load Distance, VBO off, unlimited framerate, and everything else on. Although, after looking at the screenshots, looking sideways had 1541 Chunks loaded. Is this because when I first got in, I flew up and let all the chunk loading finish?
EDIT: After flying up to Y = 300, and had over 2000 chunks loaded, I still had 60 FPS solid. So what's causing it?
EDIT #2: After closing out of MC, I got an error message. So I booted it up, waited a bit, closed, and got another error message. I didn't save the first one, but I got the second one

It's because of the way things are rendered now. The most recent snapshot provided an upgrade to the rendering engine, so now it only renders the things that you should be able to see, so not caves, and if you're looking down, only the ground beneath your feet. Thus meaning that looking straight up and straight down are easier for your computer to render, while it's harder (Though still easier than in the past) to render everything when looking horizontally (Unless you're in a shaft of some kind, then it's the opposite. If you're in a box, it doesn't matter).
As for the crash report, from my novice knowledge of Minecraft crash reports I think it's just a snapshot issue with having render distance above 16 chunks. Should be fixed in time, or you can post it to bugs.mojang.com.

Same problem here... I have a GTX 770 with 3 Gigabytes allocated to Minecraft and max settngs(Which I can play almost EVERY game I have but modded Skyrim and Minecraft.) . Unless I'm about 185 blocks above the ground, my FPS is 200+ when looking down. When I look to the side it drops down to 20. Very upset because everyone can play. Maybe it's my CPU? it's an intel i5 4460, which someone on here recommended.(I wish I got AMD...)
I did. It's still more laggy than when I had the same settings(Using optifine to get my render distance that high) and shaders. I don't understand how that works. :/
