So I began using the newest Minecraft snapshot, 14w29b, on my server. It was all good at first until I ran into my first problem: a block I just placed was invisible. At first I thought it was just lag, so I disconnected and reconnected but it was still invisible. Therefore, I removed the block and replaced it and finally it was back. The next problem came later when I opened the door and it still looked as if it was closed, however, I could walk through it. When I walked through the door, some chunks were invisible and I could see caves underground. This also happens on singleplayer and it is the same for my friend.
Why does this glitch occur? Did it just start happening in snapshot 14w29a, 14w29b or earlier? Is a new snapshot coming out by Monday to solve this? Is this happening to lots of players? Please let me know!

Snapshots are for testing only and you should never play on them without backing up worlds , they are still very buggy / glitchy due to the new rendering system , but you can play 1.7.10 , it isn't buggy .
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.
Well at first they attempted to bend time around space in 14w28a. This failed horribly.
So then they bent space around time in 14w29a. This had mixed results.
As to why it is invisible. I'm going to have to go with changes to the rendering engine made your client decide that the block was not visible.
long and short of it. It's a glitch. This is why they produce snapshots so that people can find the bugs, report them, and have them fixed. After all why pay for beta testers when you can have several thousand do it for free.
It's a snapshot, it's going to be buggy. Besides, 14w29a includes a new rendering system(as mentioned above) which makes blocks, when you place them, invisible (a few seconds for me). I get this issue too with invisible blocks and blocks that render but shouldn't.

Yeah, it is pretty annoying. I'm not playing 1.8 until 14w30a comes out, due to two bugs in it.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
4 years ago, I started played MCPE/Minecraft in general. Now, I have MCPC, and I'm still not bored of the blocky sandbox indie. Cuz awesomeness! Got a problem with that?
Aye. I'm having the same problem. It's happening when I mine blocks too however, the block is mined and I'm able to pick up the resource and I'm able to mine the blocks behind it, however the block still appears to be there. It's quite annoying.
I get this issue as well (sometimes), and it can annoy but there can be an upside.
If I have air in front of player's feet, mine the block at head level and the block doesn't disappear, walking into it gives x-ray vision.
Sometimes it lasts for quite a bit, sometimes not very long (assuming the rendering bit figures it out). I believe the fence post/redstone block x-ray vision (and a few other methods) was fixed, so this allows one to have it (albeit unpredictably and not too long at times).
Presume the render lag will get fixed and this will go away.
Have this too, but the problem seems less annoying when I installed 64-bit Java. While using 32-bit Java the rendering lag lasted at least twice as long. So even if it's not perfect now it's at least bearable to play the game. Just thought I'd point it out for those who have the option to use 64-bit, but still only have 32-bit Java (if you use a 32-bit browser such as Chrome like I do then you may not have installed 64-bit Java even if you have a 64-bit OS).

Let this tell you that I'm not a noob.
And I'm not a 6-year-old whinger either.

Fell past y= -64 and did NOT die. Realized X-Z controls still worked and moved while falling but not until y= -5309 did I think to use space bar.
Sort of like swimming upward (but no drowning animation and I'm still in a boat). Weird. Snapshot - right.
