Tools Done Right is a mod which adds new types of tools into the game, but not like a boring old tools mod like the thousands available everywhere. This mod aims to be much more professional in its manner. The mod adds a new toolset known as End Tools, which have some very special behaviour compared to normal tools.
Emerald, Ruby and Topaz (and Sapphire, not shown)
All three have 200 uses, harvest at Iron level and are almost as fast as gold tools.
Emerald tools have Looting II or Fortune on them by default.
They are also very highly enchantable.
Obsidian
Has 4000 uses, but is also a lot slower and is harder to enchant.
End
End tools are a lot different. Due to their magical properties, they can do things normal tools can't. They each have 1000 uses.
Sword:
The sword can pick up any living entity (Sheep, Skeleton, Chicken for example) and will place it back down when right-clicked again. However, this will use up the durability of the sword.
Pickaxe, Axe and Shovel:
These tools will automatically transfer items into the player's Ender Chest when the blocks are broken. This means that you no longer have to carry heaps of cobblestone - just use your Ender Pickaxe and it'll go straight to your Ender Chest, or alternatively, use it just for ores, and all your gems will automatically be safely stored in your ender chest.
Hoe:
The hoe will harvest fully-grown crops without having to replant them. Grow some crops, right click them with the Ender Hoe, and the drops for that crop will automatically drop without you having to replant the crop!
This mod adds in two new ores, which are used to craft the topaz and ruby tools:
Ruby, on the left, and Topaz, on the right, both spawn uncommonly underground, below level 32. Both of them can also be converted into their respective blocks, shown above them.
Topaz: A gem used to craft Topaz tools. Drops from Topaz Ore.
Ruby: A gem used to craft Ruby tools. Drops from Ruby Ore.
Sapphire: A gem used to craft Sapphire tools. Drops from Sapphire Ore.
Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire tools are exactly the same as Topaz in crafting, but with their respective base materials.
It seems like a nice mod, and I do like the lighting on the new tools in this mod! An idea for the Emerald Tools is to make them have a buff in that when crafted, they have Looting II on them and/or Silk Touch, but their durbility and effencity goes to a level between iron & Gold. And what's your stance on modpacks?

I've found that you reach mods before ME, this is ridiculous.
Everwhere I find an awesome mod, you're there asking for it to be put into a modpack, you're like pressfarttocontinue but on the forum!
I agree with the emerald tools, give them 100 durability, make them as fast as gold but able to mine anything a iron pick can, with looting II on it by default.
Emerald is so easy to obtain once you get a farm and the right villager. I'll be testing this on my modded server to see if it works.
Edit: Does not work on server. Sent you a private message with error log.

Stop treating mod devs poorly. These people mod as a hobby or as a service to the community, they don't have to take your suggestion and you are not entitled to anything from them.
Can you add sapphire gems and tools that are like ruby,topaz,and emerald with a custom texture (because it gets quite lame when every modder just recolors the old ruby texture). Also i love the topaz textures.
Okay. I've been hard at work, and some things have changed:
The crash reported by Mr_boness has been fixed, the server now works;
Emerald tools now have Looting II (for swords) or Fortune II (for tools) when crafted (or taken from creative inventory);
All gem tools (Emerald, Ruby and Topaz) now have only 200 uses (between Iron and Gold) and are almost as fast as gold;
Gem tools are now also very enchantable, so if you repair two together to re-enchant, it is easy to get good enchantments.
I'll be pushing out this update as soon as possible, check for version 1.1 on the downloads section. Thanks!
P.S. Xnerbop, I'm not sure whether or not to add Sapphire, I had been thinking about it already. Perhaps the next update.
That's pretty good, and also, could I use this mod in my modpack?

I've been working hard to fix the crash reports and such, and a new strability update has just been released (1.1.1, look above). This fixes all server problems that have been found (thanks Mr_boness!). The mod should now work perfectly on both clients and servers. Any other crashes that are found, please post them here.
For the first half, the aim is to get something special implemented for each tool tier, and while at the moment that only applies to Ender and Emerald tools, in the future I hope to add similar abilities for the other tiers.
About the Ender tools being able to move blocks, I like the idea, although that may make them a little overpowered. Perhaps that idea warrants an entire new item?
For the second half, I think I'd prefer to stick to vanilla crafting, since it would be a lot more intuitive to players using the mod for the first time and I don't want to make the mod seem like it is too far away from vanilla, either. However, I'll have to think about it, because I do like the method of creating a base and then being able to switch out tool heads when necessary or when one breaks. I may add something like that for a completely new tool tier... Perhaps add tool head storage on the tool itself, so the tool could, for example, be shift-right-clicked and tool heads could be taken out for crafting.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Just watched Minecraft Universe's review, and noticed that the item information kind of goes wrong... Fixing it now.
EDIT EDIT: Fixed. Same download, 1.1.1.

hi some time ago I made these textures to create a mod on basic ores and minerals, and I had like minecraft , not like the mod that bring millions of these .
I hope they can be helpful to them[/pre]

Can you add a redstone tier of tools
Sword could burn mobs
Pickaxe could auto smelt
Axe could turn logs to charcoal
Shovel can to the same to respected items
Hoes can dehydrate, hydrated sol
They can be as good as you won't and durable as you want
I hope they can be helpful to them[/pre]
