I was reading on my launcher that all mojang accounts will be required to be switched over to Microsoft accounts so I decided to make this thread about this, because for one I don't believe it's benificial.
I got a government phone and was sent a letter from the government saying that my information was at risk. A week or so later I had my accounts back after changing all of the passwords on all of my accounts.
Microsoft itself has recently admitted to having a huge security problem as well.
I don't remember logically at any time where the company Mojang or Java itself got hacked that way, but decreasing the security of my account in my opinion is not a good move.
Although, Microsoft seems like a trusted company it makes no sense that I see on the news that Microsoft had a huge security flaw and my Minecraft launcher says that my account is being upgraded to a Microsoft one for security reasons.
There could be more than one way of looking at this though, but I don't think so.
Like does it make it a more secure account because it's being stored on a system that got hacked rather than one that hasn't?
Finally I disagree with this move in it's entirety because I purchased a video game for Windows xp,Vista, or windows 10 and it required me to have Windows 10 when I purchased the game with the instillation discs.
The game did not work with a Windows Xp or Windows Vista and it required the internet to be installed.
Being clearly a falsely advertised product coming from Microsoft. As it required the internet which it clearly stated it didn't and it did not work on what it said it would.

What edition was this? I've seen people running Java edition on Windows XP, though the latest versions probably wouldn't run that well considering that a computer with XP would probably be very old (it can be installed on newer hardware but usually people with such old OSs have old hardware). Also, newer versions (since 1.12) require Java 8 to run and it appears to be problematic at best to get it to run on Windows XP (I did find somebody who managed to run 1.14.4 on Windows XP but they had to use an older version of Java 8). The current system requirements even state "Windows 7 and up" so you may have been looking at a site with outdated information (though the OS wasn't officially listed until more recently, e.g. the requirements from around the release of 1.6).

It currently still works on XP, I use one of my old trash XP laptop for tests sometimes, you might need the old version of the launcher though (not the game, the launcher, different things). Also it works the same way as it always has, you need to login once then you can launch without internet forever, also pretty sure Minecraft never had physical install discs other than the PCGamer demo, which as the name suggests, is a demo not the full game.
Though I'd like to state I do not like this change as well
Also, the Mojang account migration is being done for good reasons. You still get to keep your current account and stuff (you don't have to create a new Minecraft account!), but the migration allows for stuff like better account security and other things, like two-factor authentication.
But, if you still ain't liking it, you still got a while before they begin the process. Although, when they do start, you have to migrate within the period they give you otherwise your account will become Mr. Deleted

I was reading more about it here:

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

does this mean bedrock players can play with java players?
No, but I think they may be working on trying to make that a thing.
I think I've read of servers that have somehow managed to make it work but I'm not at all sure.
Just testing.
They're using a plugin called Geyser to make it happen, just so ya know.
