Hello! I have a single player survival world that I’ve progressed in a good bit. However my friend, who lives awhile away, got Minecraft and she wants to play with me on that world. I’ve seen a lot of helpful tutorials on how to switch over your world from single player to multiplayer on a pc. I have a Mac and I’m confused on what to do. (My friend also plays on a Mac if that’s important) Thank you for giving the time to read this.
If you want to play long distance multiplayer, you will either have to set up your own Minecraft server or buy access to Minecraft Realms. Since I do not own a Mac, I cannot give you a specific video which I know actually works, but if you search online "setting up Minecraft server on mac" you should find some useful resources.
If anyone else is more experienced with this, they'll probably comment more useful information below.

Minecraft on Mac is exactly same as on PC. One can go into game menu and choose 'Open to LAN'. Not that it will help you.
You might want to buy server hosting from a service like Apex or Scalacube, uoload your world there and run it as a server.
Okay, thanks for the advice.
