i am trying to build my first XP Farm and want to kill the pigmans by putting 24 minecarts into eachother, which will result in killing all pigman which drop in there. This does work just fine but it seems like i am not getting any XP from it, altho in videos the player seems to get loads of XP. My question is therefor: Does XP drop if mobs are killed in this way? And is it available to the player? I searched the internet up and down for this but i found absolutely nothing. Any advice would be *much* appreciated! Thank you already, and have a great day!
Yes, but you must first hit a pigman so that it becomes aggressive towards you. Any pigman that dies as a result of this will grant you XP.
I am guessing you are making something similar to this:
^ This is ilmango's farm, and it works very well. You just have to throw one snowball at one pigman, and any pigman that spawns will instantly become aggressive. If the pigmen are aggroed at you, then you will get XP. So you can leave it run for hours. Once you leave, the pigmen are no long aggro, and you start again.
