I'm assuming your base is the one near spawn? What mods are you using? Besides a few world generation/conversion errors at launch, I'm not finding any erroneous areas or areas causing low-FPS or lag. Can you give exact coordinates?
Ya, that is my base.
The mods I am using are:
Forge
Optifine
Not Enough Items
Status effect HUD
Backtools
More stackables
Item Frame fix
Endermen don't pick up blocks
Sleepanytime
Double Door mod
Balkons Weapon mod
Jammy's Furniture mod
Bibliocraft
Doggy talents
The FPS drop seems to happen when the house or the mob farm tower renders in. My FPS is dropping from ~30 to ~15 when either structure renders in and I play on tiny render distance if that helps any. The lag seems to be the worst around X:214 Y:42 Z:-238 which is in my storage room. With mods my FPS wavers around 5-10 when moving around there and with out mods my FPS jumps around a lot between 0 and 20 FPS in there but it drops to 0 every few seconds.
My laptop is not very good for playing Minecraft so maybe it just can't handle all the chests and hoppers in that area for some reason even though nothing is actually going on in there.
Alright, I made some progress. It seems that around the area with vines hanging off the railroad tracks, there's some weird client lag (like you said). On my mac, the gameplay becomes so choppy that it's nearly unplayable. On my gaming rig, the lag is minuscule but still noticeable. When I go out of this area, everything returns to normal and the lag is gone. Even with the render distance set to tiny, there's still lag in just that area.
I tried removing all the vines and powered railroad tracks to no avail. Next, I'm going to try regenerating the chunks to see if that helps.
so, any progress? Did regenerating those chunks habve the desired effect, or is the lag still there?
thanks!
I have a hole in my world from a power surge that shut my computer down...
I dont have any backups...
here is the world download: http://www.mediafire...#39;s_World.zip
There was a hole...well not actually a hole...there was a big chunk of taiga that was corrupted sitting in your lake for some reason. It only went down maybe 25 blocks but it was preventing the full chunk from loading. I removed it and everything looks fine now, let me know if I messed anything up.
I also have a corrupted Save/World. I tried the Ctrl+I in MCEdit and it didn't work. I had issues that I thought I figured out, but it was just temporary.
I have another thread where I have my DXDiag, some crash logs when I got them and some pictures of what it looks like. See my other thread here.
Hey guys, I don't know much about corrupted files or how to fix them. If there is a way I could fix this myself I would be happy to try it, but I am a little lost in the woods. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you and here is my world:
I really can't find a solution to my problem online. I play in Tekkit Lite and my map got very laggy, had chunks missing and sometime froze. Now I can't start the level at all, it keeps loading forever.
I made another world using the same seed, then used MCEdit to copy my house with chests and machines. Everything is fine, except my inventory, which off course is stored in the bugged level.dat. Does anyone know how I could see this inventory? I really can't remember what was inside...
EDIT: I made a new map from the seed, deleted its level.dat, then copied the broken save's level.dat to it and it worked! Then I could look at the inventory, empty it in a chest and use MCEdit to export it to a fully fresh world for extra safety. I'll keep that trick in mind next time (let's hope there's no next time though)
Hello. I broke it. Not really sure how. Had a villager riding a minecart, and I was following it, then a chunk didn't load in front of it, so it sorta glitched out. Then super lag. Logged in and out, now only like 3 or 4 chunks load, and they don't work. No lava flow or water, I fall off the edge of the world if I want. It's pretty trippy... https://dl.dropboxus...6/New World.rar
Maybe you can fix? I don't think I have an earlier backup.
Also, I have 36+ levels. But it seems to take about 5 minutes for them to show up.
The debug screen shows the same error again and again when trying to load the game (wrong location minecart with xyz...) I tried to delete all entities around that location in MCedit but it doesn't seem to work, even MCedit can't find them. In what version of MC did you play? I could copy your base and inventory to a fresh save, but you would lose changes made around the world. Since you have a mob spawner, I guess that would suck since it would mean all caves wouldn't be explored and bright anymore though...

I did not make a paradox.
I was using the current official 1.5.2 Only mod was x256 sphax grunge bdcraft. Are you sure there is no other way to fix it?
I have an end portal all finished and stuff too, it's far away. There are tracks going to it, and a far away nether portal. That track that had the error was going to a village that I decimated, but was rebuilding. I appreciate your help
UPDATE:
I was able to get it to work normally again by selecting all in mcedit and then hitting delete all entities, and then moving the player to a new spawn position.
Of course now I have no entities, but it's ok I guess. Maybe if we could just find that minecart...
<EDIT June 17> I managed to fix it myself - maybe someone else out there can self serve a fix! - I could not open my world successfully in minecraft any longer (symptons above) BUT - I could view it using the Minutor utility http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/37981-minutor-osxlinuxwindows-20/
(which , incidentally is a brilliant utility -for finding diamonds, strongholds, etc...!)
when viewing my world I could clearly see two separate chunks that showed as 'unknown' right in the middle of my small discovered area.
When looking at these two in mcedit - one was a 'whole in the world ' -the other was perfectly normal.
In mcedit I ran the ctrl I region repair without effect, and regenerated the one chunk that appeared 'missing' and the world still didn't work in Minecraft.
It wasn't until I deleted and replaced the other chunk that was 'missing' in Minutor but present in mcedit, that everything started working normally again.
thanks to all of you who described the repair fuctions enough to enbolden me to try a repair!!
my map has gone retarded, i was on the help site and they told me to come here.
do i need to send my map in, or what am i supposed to do.
ive owned minecraft for years now and its been a blast, this specific map ive been working on for months and months. putting 4-5 hours a day. ive never really asked for help with this kinda stuff and realistically never go on the forums or anything.

yes, my friend:
1)- google Mediafire - sign up for a free account
2) download 7zip if you haven't got it already
3) go to your minecraft /saves/<worldname> directory (dif place depending on OS) and MAKE A COPY!!! (I copy this weekly, personally)
4) zip up the copy using 7zip
5) upload it using mediafire
6) repost here with the saved mediafire link -and some kind stranger will take a look!
good luck!
note: -if you've been using this world for a while - the zipped save might be bigger than the 100mb mediafire limit. I've found File Facory works well for uploading/sharing larger files.

I have this one chunk error which is causing me to get about 5 FPS, even if I'm looking away from it and 70 blocks away from it, when you log into the world the chunk error will be right in front of you
If your Mac system got corrupted or damaged due to any reason and your data is lost then use a very professional Mac data recovery tool to get back all your data without much hassle.
Whenever I try to load my survival world it takes about 2 to 3 minutes to "generate chunks" and then it sends me to title screen. After waiting for about 4-5 minutes, however I enter the few generated chunks of my world and I cant break or place blocks and if I walk away from the generated chunks I keep falling to the void and get teleported back to the place where I spawned. How do I fix this? I reported it as a bug but an operator said it's a world corruption and gave me a link to this thread.
