I was looking at the old minecraft.com/notch webpage on archive.org, and I saw Notch had an email address [email protected] so I decided to write to him to see if it still worked, and to tell him how much I like the game he made. But then I got an error mail from gmail saying it couldn't be delivered because the destination email account didn't exist. So I guess he must have disabled his email account for some reason. It would have been so great if it still worked, because then I would be able to send him feature suggestions directly.

2.5 billion reasons (or whatever his share of that was), to be exact. He stopped being employed by Mojang when Microsoft made the purchase, and his account was likely removed as a result of that. Maybe it was kept longer for the purposes of consultation regarding older pieces of Minecraft code that he wrote and/or had influence upon.
So does that mean that the company Mojang is now completely the property of Microsoft? Are any old employees staying on, or the whole thing now run by MS employees. I hope some of the old employees stayed on, because they would be more likely to know where to find old lost versions of the game (like which Mojang computers had the harddrives that stored these versions during the game's development process, and know the physical locations these computers are at now, like what warehouses they are stored in).
Yes, Microsoft owns all of the assets of Mojang, and as for the Employees, most of them are still there, and very little of Microsoft has to deal with it other than which versions get updated and marketing and all that stuff, as for old versions, some are lost to time, but if anyone had downloaded them, you can send it to Jeb to be put into the system so others can use it.

He was probably getting too much mail. He might've blocked emails from everywhere except certain contacts (if that's possible)

Oh wow, this reminds me of the missing Doctor Who episodes!
