What do you think these mobs are? I think the 1st one is a jungle mob, a venus fly trap.
The Second one could be a stingray, for in the ocean, and the 3rd one a dinosaur, which should be jungle, mesa, or any other hot biome. The 4th one still is a mystery to me, but it looks like it's a floating mob, maybe it could be something out of the end.
The first one isn't a jungle mob. There are already multiple mobs exclusive to the jungle, they wouldn't add any more. It's likely some sort of squid type mob for the oceans, or it could be a cave specific mob that is similar to a fly trap. The fourth one is likely some sort of blaze miniboss for the nether fortresses, to give more incentive to explore the Nether after getting blaze powder and glowstone

That could be true too! The first one does look like some sort of squid, and that long thing could be one of those very long tentacles that you also see on pictures
But in real-life jungles have way more lifeforms than any other biome, so maybe Mojang wants to add some realism. But even though it would be realistic, from a design perspective it wouldn't be smart so I think your suggestion might very well be true.
What you said about that 4th mob could also be true, but without its color scheme we really can't know for which dimension it is. I have made an image that shows that:

It's a shame they haven't added more airborne mobs to the game yet. Would like to see more of those. For the 4th I'm definitely feeling it will be a sort of boss.
I think it could be an overworld boss since we have a big boss for the nether (the wither) and one for the end (the enderdragon). We do have the elder guardian, but that's not really a big boss, more of a non-respawning mob like a shulker

If any of them are bosses, I think they would all be bosses. I don't think each one has that much of a different niche compared to another. Then again, I could be wrong.
So far, they have released brief videos describing the first two mobs (here and here) and the mobs sound really interesting. I hope that this voting thing is just a trick and that Mojang is going to add all of these.

Agreed. Jeb basically admitted how the game is lacking content in certain areas (in this case, oceans and naturally-spawning Overworld flying mobs). It just sounds like a way to add "hype" to Minecon that will eventually leave people disappointed that 3 perfectly developed concepts were just tossed away due to a vote.

I honestly don't agree that the mobs that lose should just be thrown away forever. Maybe that could renovate them, or put them in different updates or something, because like you said: "...leave people disappointed that 3 perfectly developed concepts were just tossed away due to a vote."
Neither A nor B is what I thought it would be. A is a deep sea mob, and I really thought it would *not* be like a squid just because of its parts that are similar to the squid. So, I thought it would be a carniverous plant mob. B is apparently some kind of night stalker thing-- it's cool that it's original --but I thought it could be a pterasaur or a ray of some sort.
To me, C looks like a baby dinosaur, but it also ~sorta~ looks like a 'jaguar' carved into a mesoamerican temple. I thought maybe it could be a mob that pops out of rocks...though that sounds like a bad guess, given we have silverfish.
I kinda want D to be a vampire just because we donthave those. But maybe its a monster that comes out of lava? I mean normally, when a player is down looking for diamonds near lava lakes, its fairly mob free, because the light has kept them from spawning until one uses water to make obsidian. Maybe there's the potential for a mob that can spawn in lava/lava-lit spaces??

It would be awesome, but then again it's very unlikely.

The bolded text supports could support that the mob could be a mob from another dimension. Like in the Nether, lava is very common in the Nether. And then if you were to add another mob with that kinda power, that would make sense in that kind of area. Although I wouldn't say a vampire. Maybe some sort of 4-legged mob that comes out of the lava. Kind of like blazes.
Thanks for the link. So, C does not pop out of rocks, but it does camouflage itself in the earth somehow. My guess was not *way* off.

Does there seem to be a theme in which the new mobs fit into parts of the environment where we didn't have mobs before? Deep ocean, high altitude, camouflaged in earth....

If that is the case perhaps this last one will spawn in lava

The video for the last mob is here. I am not sure I like this mob as much as the others, since it just sounds like a more enhanced version of a blaze that is harder to kill.

I just have to hope D Does not get it. There are already enough reasons to be scared to enter the Nether.
For a moment, I thought the last one would actually be like some sort of ender-knight as a hazard for the outer lands in the End.
Figured it was time for a change.
