We need a space dimension to give some final fist of ending to the mainstream game.
(if you dont know what i mean from 'mainstream game', it means when you max out your weapons, armor, and kill all bosses present in game)
Space would have a boss...
& the dimension should be very brilliant, and advanced-themed.
As I've said before, just because we're not going with space dimension doesn't mean we have to abandon the couple of concepts we had. The dimension you're describing (late game, powerful boss) could easily work for the frost world.

I'm okay with a space aspect to the dimension, but not so much with a boss. It adds too much of a feel/push for progression than just exploring, gathering resources, finding pets, etc. Those are supposed to be the main bases for the dimension.
Since Ruined City theme is fairly popular in the pool, I think we should do some kind of dungeon for that. Instead of the steampunk stuff that would be in the floating islands and probably higher up areas like the ice spires, these could generate in some kind of flat expanse of snow, a kind of ocean for this dimension, but more similar to plains (unless we end up not doing biomes for this like the End and Nether, in which case it just generates randomly). I'm thinking some kind of runic, arcane feel to the place would be cool, with glowing symbols and stone obelisks rising into the sky, with ancient constructs guarding the place. Thoughts?

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. Perhaps, in a similar style to the Atlantean architecture? (From Atlantis: The Lost Empire.) Or the Aether bronze dungeons? I'm all on board with it.

I haven't watched that Atlantis movie but I've definitely played Aether, and I was thinking that I was describing it in a way too similar as I finished typing, hehe. It would probably need to have a different color scheme and enemies that are as far opposite as possible from the dungeon mobs, so we don't get accused of copying =P

Nah, I wouldn't worry at all about "copying." If anything, the Aether people were copying (without permission I may add) from this suggestion made years back. Now, I don't really have a very high opinion of the Aether devs for a few reasons, this is one of them.
If you haven't seen Atlantis, it's a must-watch. Alongside Treasure Planet it's the most unorthodox film Disney ever made, and I love every second of it. Great soundtrack, too.
Back on topic, I can actually see that color scheme fitting nicely with the dimension, bar maybe a slight blue or indigo hue to the stone.
When did we every agree on floating islands and cracks in the ground?
We all seem to be on different pages with how this dimension would actually generate. This is a hard decision because the main three options (normal, huge cave, floating islands) have already been taken. In a perfect world, I'd like to see it generate something completely new, but I don't know if that's possible. The only two I can think of are infinite maze and superflat- neither of which would work with the current theme. So, should the dimension be floating islands (ripoff of End) or normal (ripoff of Overworld)?
I'd suggest the dimension has floating islands, but the islands have lots of variation in height. This would help differentiate them from the flat End. Adding more Overworldy items (snow) would also help. Basically a combination of overworld and end generation.

I think we should keep the terrain as close to as normal as possible, as the giant cave would only really make sense underground, and the floating islands is a really unoriginal idea. Something we could do is come up with a custom world preset that could represent the terrain of the dimension.
"i would like to see liquid nitrogen in the frost dimension, in contact with lava it will evaporate, and lava could become bedrock"
--------------------
Liquid Nitrogen: I think that liquid nitrogen could work, but it shouldn't create bedrock. Giving the player indestructible blocks would be OP and ruin many worlds (ex: creating a bedrock prison on someone). However, liquid nitrogen could create "fragmented bedrock" which would be insanely difficult to break (10x obsidian?). This would well with Wolftopia's outer crust border idea.
Runic Structures: I like this a lot! It would work with the theme quite nicely. Maybe one could look like Stonehenge.
World Generation: While I agree that floating islands is unoriginal, when I think of frost-world I think of a floating world among the clouds. Maybe we're just imagining different pictures inside our heads; for me it looks similar to the color pallet picture a page back.

Hm. Nitrogen is definitely something to sit on. I think there's a spark there, but we have to watch how tough we go with the rock. Maybe it freezes water on contact?
As far as world gen goes, frankly we don't have too terribly many other options left. Floating islands I'm all for. I don't really see how said floating islands are unoriginal. (Yes there's the Aether and End but those are different birds) Even if it is unoriginal, something can be unoriginal, and still work. Or, better yet, be transformed over time into something of its own. Perhaps some of the islands could be supported by giant pillars, crystals, or trees?
When did we every agree on floating islands and cracks in the ground?
I don't know, that was in my first comment about the frost dimension that no one at all acknowledged, save for the first sentence, so I have no clue what's being taken from the suggestion I made.
I think this is the only nice and realistic way to add another dimension after the end, the name : "The Frozen Past"
i like the idea of a frost dimension, and i would love to see liquid nitrogen as the unique liquid in the frost dimension. of course it will freeze water
this is my idea: the idea is based of how should we get to the frost dimension
think about this: the overworld is filled with monsters (all the hostile mobs), but why? is this a kind of future? can we still return back to the past?
well, i think it would be very cool if in the end you would be able to get a type of "history cristal shard/fragment", that you can use to light a portal and go to the past were there are no monsters and you would add some other mobs like lions and other predators (← this dimension will not exist), or WAIT! you failed and ended in a prehistoric age with different monsters and bosses to fight, i leave you with this uncompleted idea so you can use your imagination to complete it
note: the prehistoric dimension will be the the frost dimension, we are thinking about which dimension will fit perfect with the vanilla dimensions, so pls not steampunk or space.
I personally still don't like the idea of floating islands. Since we want the dimension to be original, it shouldn't take large elements from existing dimensions (i.e. the End). Instead, we could perhaps have a very high-contrast terrain where it's all large flat-ish (not 100% flat, but with like a 3 block height range) plains and really tall, flat cliffs/plateaus.
Since it seems we've decided on the theme, should we change the poll to one where people can choose multiple answers, and it lists off all the biome ideas we have? Or just a general generation theme? My ideas (and others i like) for the poll so far are:
-Flurry Fields (Fog and geysers, floating islands above if they're added)
-Floating Islands (Probably not a biome, but just generation)
-Steampunk Outposts (Dungeon/Village)
-Ruined City (Dungeon)
-Icy Expanse (Flat field of permafrost possibly?)
-Ice Spires (A bunch of rounded off chunks of ice stretching high into the sky)
i dislike the idea of floating islands, i think the world generation should be semi-flat and with spikes upside down coming from a ceiling
If we had a ceiling then it would be incredibly similar to the Nether, while floating islands don't necessarily have to be similar to the End. The End is made only of floating islands, but they're flat on the top, while in this dimension they don't have to be. They could be giant floating spires of rock, floating mountains, spherical formations, while still having lots of varied land on the ground. Just because one dimension has something doesn't mean another dimension can't have it at all. I mean, the Overworld has snowy biomes, does that mean we can't use snow?

The way this post is going it looks like a Space dimension isn't going to be the one we end up developing, sorry buddo

No, but we should keep the terrain different in some way.
