What made you choose your username for Minecraft and/or this forum?
I chose Hoogady because it's short for Hoogadyfoogdygoog, a word I made up. In Minecraft I'm Computernaut, I used to be coldcat747 but I thought it was kind of dumb so I changed it.
Mine is pretty self-explanatory - I doubt that anybody else has come even close to doing as much caving as I have, and for all the complaints about "endless" caves it only took me around 24 hours of playtime to explore the largest cave system that I've ever explored (outside of my mods) - a true monster compared to anything I've seen in 1.7+:
And that is an insignificant fraction of everything that I've explored in one world alone, which includes even larger networks of caves, ravines, and mineshafts (if you want to be technical pretty much the entire world is one network):
(this does not include the most recent areas I've explored or new chunks I generated out to a new base; the world measures more than 6000x6000 blocks)
(the giant cave system is to the right of center near the bottom, where you can also see a railway I just built to a new base)
Even more than four years ago, prior to signing up on these forums, when I first used the name "TheMasterCaver", I had explored this much in the same world, which is also about how much I explored in my most recent world (overall I've spent around twice as much time playing as in my first world with nearly all of my playtime spent playing the same way):
For comparison, this was my most recent (modded) world:
That said, my original Minecraft name was PogomanMaster, which came from my account on Totaljerkface (Happy Wheels, which I have not played for years). This also explains the clothes on my skin, which I have never changed, even to the 1.8+ format (since I do not play those versions and they still accept the old format anyway).
Actually, my name came from my dad. He suggested this name, at the time I thought was pretty cringy, but I had no other ideas. Now, I actually really like this name. Definitely better than XxPvPGodxX or XxCringeKid108529xX.
i don't really remember i think i saw a random guy in a SA-MP server named trasu or something so i just picked traso beecause nobody ever uses it online and the 56 is a random number i use when the name must be 6 char at least
When it comes to the forum, "SheepInTheCity" comes from my Minecraft username at the time, which is inspired by the tune "Night In The City" by Electric Light Orchestra. I just replaced the word "Night" with "Sheep" (my favorite in-game animal) and voila... we have my name. This account used to be called KlockKid12Jr. That came about because I lost the password to my first account (KlockKid12) and couldn't be bothered to go through the whole "forgot-your-password" thing; instead I opted for creating a new account entirely.
As for Minecraft, I've had quite a few. Please read the spoiler down below:
KlockKid12: My very first username that I used when I bought the game on August 16, 2013. I used to be obsessed with clocks during this time, and I had just turned 12 (Aug 16 is my birthday) so me and my mom came up with this name.
Wizmilo: Back in the dark ages of 2014 (I was weird), I used to frequent a chatroom called Pokemon Showdown, on a (now defunct) server called "Frost". My username (one of dozens) was Wizeardreaux (Pronounced "Wizard Roe"; not sure where the wild E in "Wizeard" came from). Also, a cat who was very close to me (he was my bud since I was a baby) had just passed away from a bad case of laryngitis. His name was Milo. I can't remember what led him to do this, but a "friend" of mine (he was really my sister's friend) came up with the name "Wizmilo". And it stuck. When the ability to change names rolled around, this was the name I chose.
SheepInTheCity: I shouldn't have to explain how I came up with this.
RockyRacco: I ended up using this name three times. I wanted a name that had something to do with the song "Rocky Raccoon" by the Beatles. But knowing that "RockyRaccoon" was already taken (combined with a desire to avoid having numbers in my name) I came up with "RockyRacco." It's one of my favorite names, behind "SheepInTheCity".
MovingMan: I really don't like this one. I wanted a name that was inspiring somehow. I was inspired by the songs "Babaji" by Supertramp and "Bangladesh" by George Harrison. I don't remember how I came up with this name.
CitySheep: This, unfortunately, was a half-arsed name that I came up with on a whim.
I used RockyRacco again here....
RudyC4t: Have you ever heard of the Nintendo game "Animal Crossing"? Well, I named myself after a character in this game who's called... you guessed it, Rudy. He is a cat. (I was also partially inspired by the song "Rudy" by Supertramp)
Used SheepInTheCity again.
LeSkvid: Wanted a name that that had something to do with squids, since there was this cute squid skin I wanted to use. Put "The Squid" through French and a Russian accent, and you will get this name.
I used RockyRacco AGAIN. It also happens to be my current name as of the time of writing.
Back in the BBS days before the Internet, I picked the name Talysman. Then, some of the BBSes that ran some kind of Citadel BBS software added a "Title" feature that added a little something after your username, and I became Talysman the Ur-Beatle, because of a joke that I made once on the boards.
Since then, I have always been either Talysman or Urbeatle on every forum or social media platform, or anyplace else I've had to create an account.
I chose my name from back in the Halo Days. I wanted something unique. So one day I was sitting there killing people and laughed because on the sceen it said you were killed by "alolipop". Thats when it clicked and became aNaturalCause. So now when I kill people, which doesn't happen very often it says you were killed by "aNaturalCause". Thought it would be funny because being shot in a game is not a natural cause.

That's funny, I thought of making my username "YourBoss" so that it would say things like "YourBos has entered the game". I didn't because I thought it would probably already be taken, I also thought of "TheHoodedOne" or "TheHooded1" but they were both taken. There are all kinds of names that could be very funny when they show up in the game chat.

Yikes, I just posted a request for tips on exploring. If you have any you want to share, I'd love to hear them!

My username in most places online is Adingo.
I, of course, wanted to call my Minecraft account Adingo, but apparantly the fact there's another player called AdingO (He has a capital O, I don't) prevented it. So I just added the D since it sounded good to me.
I was young and dumb back in 2011 when I first got cracked and setup a name which was the one I have on here (build28) so I kept it when I got the game legit back in early 2012.
Cause I kept the original, I kept it the same for my MinecraftForums account.
I hated myself so much for having that username, I gave the impression of a typical 9 year old squeaker who just learned to curse.
Finally they added the option to change usernames, which I instantly did, and now I go by my name Kane__ (because Kane and Kane_ weren't available sadly).
I used to watch Paulsoaresjr's "Survive and Thrive" series. In the second series (after the game was released) he started to call skeletons in full gold armour "Skelebling". I don't know why but I remembered this and when I got to pick my username for my account back in 2013 I thought Skelebling sounded cool. I had thought about changing it but decided not to after I started using it on other platforms like Steam and social media. 4 years later and I have never changed my Minecraft account's name, and never intend to.

Slightly off topic but, it seems like sleketons are the most frequently nick-names mobs in Minecraft, I've heard, Skelington, Skelebob, and Skelly, and now Skelebling.

Just curious, that's all.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...

I could tell you to guess from where is comes, but that reference is too obscure to be noticed.
It came from the name of some item in DivineRPG, a dead RPG mod.

The forum name is just for consistency.

Use to play Team Fortress 2 / Day of Defeat
- Had another nickname until I was invited to join a 'clan' & one clan member said
'Glad you're on our team - you always rush in & act as cannon fodder so that we can see the snipers" (or something like that)
I liked the name 'CannonFodder' better than my original, so changed it but then when starting playing Minecraft - found 'cannonfodder' was taken
... best I could get was 'cannonfoddr' so that how I ended up with it
Old times, few friends and me created a Royal Faction. I've had a title of Inspektor, and VI is 6.
Pretty easy
