If we come to this forum I think we all enjoy the game! Maybe it doesn't have the same appeal as it did when the game was new but man oh man I have never enjoyed a game for this amount of time before! Minecraft forever and ever <3
Shut up minecraft is beyond terrible now , they unballanced the game whit ships that have countless diamonds in them , changed the textures (Because the "Kids" didn't like them) and random block rotation in 1.8 made grass look terrible , 1.9 combat update , combat became slow and boring , 1.10/1.11/1.12 added useless mobs and so on
It is hard to find ships with diamonds in them, mining to get them is faster. And I don't understand how changing a few textures would be a big deal to someone, and if you hate them that much, you can easily use the old textures instead. And 1.8 combat was honestly terrible, it was spam clicking, nothing else, just spam click while looking at the mob or person you want to attack. And there is no such thing as a useless mob. If a mob doesn't have any drops or doesn't attack you, it doesn't necessarily mean its useless, it adds ambiance.
Besides, everyone can still use the old textures. Just haul ya butt to "Resource packs" under options tab, and choose "Programmer Art".
Boom. You have the old textures. It is not THAT hard. People just need to use their brain. SMH.
I'll take your word for it, although I don't really see the appeal in recycling stone or iron pickaxes unless they have good enchants. And since you clearly don't want to work with a crafting station, why recycle old pickaxes anyway?
I still do this, probably as a holdover from when I used to die in lava a lot during the 1.2.5 and 1.3 days before I got the hang of avoiding lava deaths.
Personally, I can list three updates that made Minecraft go bad for me:
Beta 1.8, though long before I started playing Minecraft, for replacing the terrain generation with a worse one with hardly any variation within each biome. Not even 1.7 was enough to recover from this disaster.
1.6. Around that time, the community was still upset about Beta 1.8. And then Mojang added horses. Yes, horses. Took away any use the pig had, along with some of the quirky charm from the game. The other changes weren't too bad, but I still dislike 1.6 as a testament to how little Mojang seemed to care about the community.
1.9. I'm not much of a PvPer, but the combat changes made enemies take longer to kill, so even a handful of mobs can easily overwhelm a player. 1.11, fortunately, made this predicament better by adding saturation regen, but at the cost of making PvP combat slower-paced.
To me it's tough as why the combat change in 1.9 was something, the rest of the updates the more I look back are just structures (some good some bad) or more blocks that like glass, terracotta and more to other more useful like armor stands. I find that the hoppers, armor stand like blocks make updates more interesting for survival and commands/redstone communities probably have it alright for updates. But otherwise yes the building/PVP/exploration type players do have it awkward or dull, but otherwise the what I find from the community is also a bit much when structures can be cool but the performance can suck, using mods you can tell, when they are designed well sure, but then again it is up to the player to have a system that can run them too.
So I jump back and forth between the worst and better updates (as I prefer specific features) as many features can be great while others can feel like a new biome/more blocks aren't all the interesting to use.
Honestly 1.5 was the last update with a block that I find impacted things, the smoker/blast furnace are faster than a furnace specific blocks, while the campfire is something to use besides a furnace. There not doubling ores, making moss stone from water and cobble or something type of changes the tech mods have for example which is why I appreciate the hopper or armor stand so much.
I'm not saying the community is wrong for hating certain updates, some are really bad but I will say some updates feel safe while others go too far making some feel flat/average rather than bad.

In the end, you know it's all just blocks.
I voted other, but I could also have voted never, provisionally. As long as there is a modded community, MC will never go bad.

I think bethelabba53752 is referring to the chests in the village houses from 1.14 (blacksmith chests weren't changed in that update).

I wanna meet whoever said the game went bad around 1.13 and have a nice quick talk with them.
