Just found out that today is the exact day that I made my account on this forum, and I got surprised; I didn't even remember that.
This made me remember that I play Minecraft since 1.2.5 (around 2011's winter) and the good old times where I costumed to play in a Server back then.
Nowadays I've just have been updating my Resource Pack for the latest versions, but almost got no time to play (Thank God I just ended my Graphic Design university graduation and I'll have some free time).
Since which version do you play Minecraft? Share it with us.
I Started playing in early to middle 2011 maybe 2010, I started on the pocket edition and had a blast, when I got my first PC I got MC in 2013 in october, I play almost every day! Can't believe it's almost 6 years of me playing. To bad people are leavng the game now, it's starting to die
Oh boy it's been a while... Started playing around the late Alpha days, but I didn't buy the game 'til Beta 1.2. I still remember my very first world, might try to recreate some of it one day.

Bought it at the start of 2013 so I guess it was late 1.3, when 1.4 was about to be released. I consider 1.3 maps old but then I realize I'm about as old as them as well. A year prior I couldn't stop playing the free MC:PE and demo. Classic didn't really appeal to me.

That explains your DBZ pic, lol nice. I think people are leaving because of the fanbase tbh. No insult to everyone here btw.
On the subject of people leaving, I think there are a few factors.
Mojang is owned by Microsoft now, which means the devs have to be more formal usually, which means less community involvement on that front
Minecraft is more popular, and spans many platforms now, which makes it available to younger audiences as well as fracturing the community. Ergo, younger players and even less unity among the playerbase.
Most of the major fun things that can be added to the game have been added, or rather, it's hard to think of any game-changing Wow! features that could still be pushed / are feasible on the Java platform. New update? Yay, a new mob, a new block, a new xy and z...
Building on the last bullet, everything's been done before. Minecraft isn't a new game anymore, and it's hella popular, so chances are that crazy awesome build, that revolutionary mob grinder, or that other thing your just discovered has probably been done by someone else. If your drive in playing is to find / build new things, there isn't much left untouched.

I started in Release 1.5.1 or so. I remember about 5 days after I started playing 1.6 came out. I decorated my witches hut with carpet and got a horse. Then when The Update That Changed the World (aka 1.7.2) came out, I made this huge building with flowers on the inside. A few minor updates later, I join the world to see my hut covered in sand! That's my story.
sometime pre alpha and on what is today called classic and on unpaid versions. I dont think I bought the game till around 2010-2011 winter when beta came out
still miss the New icton videos I remember those were really entertaining. Sucks minecraft is filled with a bunch of 8 year olds now. Community used to be really good and now its blah

I started in mid 2013 (August 17, 2013 to be exact) circa version 1.6.2. The day after my 12th birthday.
I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...

Oh man 1.2.5 was lit. I spent most of my early days playing Tekkit online. Great memories...

I started playing on 1.3.2, when i got my first computer.
I started around a year ago, in 1.5 (the redstone update).
That wasn't a year ago
March of this year on console. Around 1.8 for us at the time.
It was either TU3 or 4 on the Xbox 360 version. I later moved on to PC Minecraft at around late 1.4.7, right before the Redstone Update.

It was quite long, don't you think?
Cheers!
