I'm trying to remember how far the area of effect a player has on the surroundings. I thought it was 169 blocks in each direction from the player. But I could be wrong.
Mobs despawn imeadiately if they are more than 128 blocks from any player.
For redstone signals and such I think it depends on the render distance, for everything to work normally you need all the chunks within 2 chunks of the mechanism to be loaded. though some things will work as long as the chunk they are in is loaded.
Basically how far mobs are from a char. As in how far away does the player from a given mob. Does the mob either despawn or stop moving about.
Reason why is that I don't want to build too close to a village to keep it like hostile free. But yet close enough that it doesn't take long to get to it.

Could someone please help me out on this.
Thanks.
Depends on what you mean?

Just testing.
