So i had this idea a few days ago about a huge minecraft real-life type server, but not any RP server that have ever seen before.
what im about to explain today is a first real econnomic based server, with real jobs and real money, that you can actually profit from and im here to explain how:
well first of all the server itself is F2P , but to get thing actually going you will need to invest a few bucks.
you will be able to buy the server's currency with real life money and invest it in things that can profit.(real-estate, stock market, shops- ill talk about that more later)
the server will run exclusive plugins that will allow you to live inside minecraft-reality world and grow into a big shark that makes money from playing minecraft!
so lets talk abit about the game play.
you start the game inside the main city in the world, from there you can start to costumize your character, adding name and second name, you will recive an id number and a pass port for the country youre in. after that you can start exploring around, looking at the city and feeling the atmosphere of a true community, you will need to head to the jobs agency and see what jobs are avaible atm ( there is going to be a limit for the amount of slots at each job) oh and btw, another thougth about the character plugin is theres going to be diseases and possibility of breaking bones and getting your health lower (when you die you leave the server forever), and you have to consume food and water every now and than (which forces you to buy food aka reason why the jobs are going to profit) to buy things in the server(food etc) you have to buy the servers currency, if you have decent amount of money in your account, you can cash out any time you want. real estate- theres going to be apartments, lots of them. which of course you buy using the servers currency. private houses, lands, mansions, designed houses, all of this is the thing you can expand into from a basic apartment.
you can buy a few lands, hire a team of builders, and sell the house for higher price and profit from that aswell
( the builders will have to buy the materials for the house, which will cost money and people who are good at building can get points for thier building ideas and become famous and more people will hire them)
well anyway, i hope you got the main idea and im tierd of typing because there's so much details to it, please let me know what you think about this idea!
To start with, selling a currency that can be used for anything other than purely cosmetic items for real money is against the Eula.
As a general idea, it's interesting but it would take a lot of work to come up with something workable that would keep people interested, I'm doubtful but who knows, look at Second Life.
I've always liked the idea of servers with an economy but as others have said, I'm pretty sure paying real world money for in game currency that can be used to get an unfair advantage over other players is against the eula. I also don't think the perma-death idea is very good, it would mean that unless the server was incredibly popular, you would lose your player base pretty quickly, and what's the point of having a server if no one plays on it?

This RP kind of server "idea" has been attempted many times. It always have failed though.
