Xbox, Playstation, and Pocket Edition will eventually replace the PC version. Yes, there will still be a small community, but consoles are just so convenient for kids that it will overtake PC.

Why do you think that? I don't think Minecraft PC will die.

You've obviously never played modded minecraft.
It's not possible to support such things on inferior console machines.

That's true, but as more people play modding technology may begin to emerge. Or they'll build in mods the same way they did skins and texture packs. Also, kids usually aren't as capable with mods or as interested. Well, sometimes. But the Xbox community is undeniably growing, and so is its support.

I wouldn't say that. Sure, consoles stand a chance to grow more in popularity, but to replace the PC? Nah. Not when it's so convenient to a lot of players, not to mention being able to mod or use mods *probably* won't go over as well on consoles, if at all.
While I generally prefer to play on the XBox, I mod my own graphics on PC and I am NOT willing to give that up!

Mods on consoles won't ever happen for consoles. Take my word for it, the only way mods on console editions of the game will ever be even legally allowed on consoles is for 4J to rewrite the internals of the game to use packages to load content in, rather than hardset code adding blocks to a list.
Mods ain't allowed on consoles because of the fact that they introduce security issues, modifying the code of games is an easy way to toss the security of a platform away, especially if games ain't loaded in a secure, isolated environment. People always use the retort of "But Fallout 4 is getting mods on Xbox One! Why can't Minecraft?" Bethesda have designed the engine to do just that, load content in packages to make modding easy, 4J (and Mojang) have not. That's the difference, Minecraft requires you to add that bit of code to the Block class to add your custom blocks (Forge adds a hook for this externally so you don't have to edit the game's Block class, instead you call Forge's method). Modding requires you to edit the game's code, directly or indirectly, and hence is illegal.
Oh, and community-driven mods will always be better than official "mods", except in the cases of DLC (but DLC won't ever come out for Minecraft, DLC + sandbox games don't mix as well as other genres).

This + lots of other factors.
Like existing mods, and them being coded in Java. It is also EXTREMELY easy to mod on the PC, so long as you have "forge" installed (which is literally a one click installer) then you just drag & drop mods and make sure versions match.
So what do you think about the big Minecraft youtubers losing massive audiences? Just the nature of Youtube?
I don't think it matters. Minecraft isn't about youtube. It's about surviving and creativity. If youtube crashed permanently, I would enjoy minecraft more, actually.
Youtube has no effect on the way I play minecraft.
The youtube business is corrupt -- the youtubers don't play Minecraft because they enjoy it, they play it because it keeps bread on the table.

What does youtube subscribers have to do with the game's popularity? TBH, if it's fading... I don't notice it. Me and my friends still have the best time having "Build off's" and such... We've all been playing since October / November of 2010 and it still hasn't gotten old.

Minecraft isn't even close to dying. The game is still quite popular and played on many different platforms by many people.
Though people may at times leave the game due to being bored or some other reason, many who leave still return to the game.
