So, Minecraft as we all know is an open-world 3d sandbox game. However, I feel like that this game faces serious competition with Terraria. I then realize that this game would be alot of fun to play if it was scary. So I am wondering how I could make minecraft alot scarier. Now, I said scarier NOT harder. I want to play minecraft and be constantly paranoid. Anyways, hope you guys have suggestions.
Also, just to clarify no Adventure maps. I honestly couldn't care less for those.
Try the mo creatures mod. It can get pretty tense in the night and underground. And if you don't research the mod much its even better. Most of the fear of minecraft comes from the unknown, so not researching mod contents much can help a lot. It also adds a bit more challenge which i know you're not exactly looking for, but it helps. Playing on hard as well. Hardcore is even better. The stakes are massive at all times. You could also go into the .minecraft folder, options text file, and change the gamma to -1.0 or -0.5 or lower/higher. The daytime is normal but caves and night get DARK. this also reduces torch radius. If you change brightness in game this resets however.
