Mojang, if you see this, you need to slap your own hands right now for a week straight. Vamanos!
You might be thinking, "What are you talking about? You can have fun with tons of people on there!" I guess in a strange way, sure. But overall the point of the game mode is still not there. If I want to have fun with people, I'll just go on Team Fortress 2 or CS:GO. The singleplayer aspect of Minecraft is fine, you can do what you want, build what you want, craft what you want. The world is yours basically. In multiplayer, the world is... sort of yours? It's just a dumb share game at that point.
There is also a lack of multiplayer-based things in the game. Okay, so there are 50 people running around a big world. Wow. Neat. However, there are no forms of interactive stuff for multiplayer. For example, where the two-seated horses? Where the huge ships everyone can ride? Where the carrier pigeons to send messages? Catch my drift? Mojang should have implemented this stuff BEFORE having multiplayer exist.
You guys following me? Alright good, stay with me. Let's bring up something else. The lag. Good mother of sweet god, the lag. That lone factor should be enough to repel any of Satan's mortal creatures away from it. It's as if everyone in the world is playing the game through 90's AOL. You swing a sword at someone and they take the damage 4 days later. Someone fires an arrow at you and the server thinks it hit you when it was aimed at the blocky sun.
Lastly, there are no multiplayer mobs. In other words, there's no mobs with extremely jacked up health that require teamwork for many players to take down. No, it's just the same as single player. People killing the same creepers and cows with little effort. lolno. I can honestly say, that if multiplayer was just removed the game, I would not mourn for it.
I have plenty of nostalgic memories of a survival server. And there were lots of player interactions. The beautiful spawn was filled with player's buildings, there were shops, mob arena, pvp arena, etc. Mostly ALL of my Minecraft experience was on that one server. I'm glad it existed.
And there are mobs that you can fight with others. There's mob area for example, or you can spawn a Wither and have other people help fight it, or fight the Ender Dragon.
I kind of agree with the lag, sometimes it's bad, but you've got to understand (in a minigame-pvp scenario) that there are around 30-60 players inside a very small map all hitting each other, moving, changing the terrain, etc. hosted on a far-away server.
Any other time (like on that survival server I mentioned earlier) there is hardly any lag.
Also, TF2 and CS:GO are completely different types of games and completely different experiences from Minecraft.
What I got out of this was "blahblahblahwhinecomplaincarrierpigeonsyadayadayada". If you don't want to play multiplayer, don't. Why do you feel the need to whine to people who DO like multiplayer? It's pointless. The carrier pigeon thing I kinda liked. I could see that being useful if you play on a big server with players spread out. Otherwise, meh. Pointless whining is pointless.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. I will face my fear. I will let it pass over me and through me, and when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Question, have you ever played on a multiplayer server?
Yes? Why would I make a thread about the horridness of multiplayer if I never played it? That's like walking up to a well designed poster of a movie I've never seen or heard about before and shouting, "THAT MOVIE SUCKED!" How would I know the servers lag if I've never been on one?
Does TF2 or CS:GO let you build houses? No? Thats what I thought. People enjoy playing Minecraft with each other. CS:GO doesn't deliver the experience Minecraft Multiplayer provides. For the lag, that's not the devs fault, it's your fault or the server owner's fault. If you or the owner has crappy internet, then you get lag. If you or the server owner has a potato for a computer you get lag. Catch my drift?
Mojang, if you see this, you need to slap your own hands right now for a week straight. Vamanos!
You might be thinking, "What are you talking about? You can have fun with tons of people on there!" I guess in a strange way, sure. But overall the point of the game mode is still not there What do you mean by this?. If I want to have fun with people, I'll just go on Team Fortress 2 or CS:GO Yep, let's get rid of all of multiplayer just because some guy likes CSGO better. Great idea. The singleplayer aspect of Minecraft is fine, you can do what you want, build what you want, craft what you want. The world is yours basically. In multiplayer, the world is... sort of yours? It's just a dumb share game at that point What's wrong with sharing?.
Mojang should have implemented this stuff BEFORE having multiplayer exist Let's add features for something that isn't in the game yet! Also, considering how long multiplayer has been in the game, you're a bit late with this.
As for the paragraph (minus the part I talked about), I can get on board with it. We need more multiplayer related features.
Someone fires an arrow at you and the server thinks it hit you when it was aimed at the blocky sun What?! This does not happen at all! .
Like others have said, this isn't Minecraft's fault, it's your/the server's.
Lastly, there are no multiplayer mobs. In other words, there's no mobs with extremely jacked up health that require teamwork for many players to take down Yes! I like this!. No, it's just the same as single player Other than the fact that you can play with friends.. . People killing the same creepers and cows with little effort. lolno. I can honestly say, that if multiplayer was just removed the game, I would not mourn for it.
In the end, eliminating multiplayer would be one of the most boneheaded decisions that Mojang could do. I like the stuff you suggested to make multiplayer a more interesting experience, just not the whole "No more multiplayer!" thing that most of the thread was about.

My avatar is a sprite of Mr Saturn from the Earthbound/Mother series of Role Playing Games.
My only issue with multiplayer is that every server seems to have a bunch of pointless plugins. Economies, shops, minigames. The ones I hate the most are the ones that give you "command points" when you vote for them on some ranking website.

If you don’t like it don’t play it and for "If I want to have fun with people, I'll just go on Team Fortress 2 or CS:GO." not everyone has TF 2 CS:GO ect. And everyone is different so i see no point in this thread.
Getting rid of multiplayer would be the most dumb decision Mojang could ever make. There would be protests all over these forums and all over the internet!

I'll admit this would be neat, but "multiplayer only" ideas almost always fail.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
I'll tell you one thing you can't do in singleplayer, pvp. I love factions. you can't pvp in singleplayer. I don't have any probs w/ lag most of the time, I think you need a better computer mate.
btw if you hate multiplayer so much, then just play singleplayer and don't complain. g'day mate.

You must not have had a good server then, for on a multiplayer server I play on, I have a blast every single day, in fact if it was not for multiplayer I would still not be playing minecraft today.
If there "Is not" that then make some, that's the whole point of multiplayer. You have more then one person so you can make interactive things, for example in the server I play on we have an arena, where we host many events, then we also have an entire world dedicated to multiplayer games.
You guys following me? Alright good, stay with me. Let's bring up something else. The lag. Good mother of sweet god, the lag. You swing a sword at someone and they take the damage 4 days later. Someone fires an arrow at you and the server thinks it hit you when it was aimed at the blocky sun. The lag really all depends on your host, and how close the players are to the hosting location, but a timed restart every other day will fix it in a jiffy.
Lastly, there are no multiplayer mobs. In other words, there's no mobs with extremely jacked up health that require teamwork for many players to take down. No, it's just the same as single player. Just because you don't like multiplayer, does not mean you have to bash on it, and ruin it for everyone else, after all no one is forcing you to play it are they? (My responses in bold.)

Add in multiplayer only features, and you leave out people who don't like interacting in MP, or people who don't have the connection to support going on a server.
Multiple people can do a one person task, but one person can't do something that requires more than one person.
So if Mojang adds MP only tasks/functions they leave out single players. But you can always work as a team towards a goal that doesn't require a team.
I've played on a few MP servers- they aren't my thing since I am not a very social person, and also know that griefers are all too common. Yet I'm not Calling the ability for people to play with friends if they want to a pointless feature.
Also, in your own words, since playing multiplayer doesn't offer you anything special, why not just pretend it isn't there, instead of coming on here to rant about the existence of the function? You wouldn't have lost out on anything, and would have in fact saved yourself the time spent on typing up your rant.
I can only conclude that you never made the effort to find a good multiplayer server, or even attempted to get others involved with what you were doing. The server I play on? We work together all the time. I once started building a road past everyone's towns, and I got five or six helpers obtaining cobblestone, leveling the ground, and placing torches without even having to ask them to help. They just decided it would be fun and started helping. There was a greater sense of accomplishment together than apart.

While i usually avoid multiplayer due to internet connections, a very large amount of people love it. (some would say more love multiplayer)
Even without direct multiplayer things, people STILL have tons of fun and if you don't like multiplayer, luckily you can player single.

Ok,so you think multiplayer ain't good,if you want a server where you can do anything find it,there are plenty of them.
check this out!
pointless whining is pointless lol! Forgot the ding followed by a sin counter.
I really just don't see the point in removing a feature that is used by what is it 45-50% of players just on pc alone.
Don't forget console edition which I imagine has a far larger multiplayer base. Survival is fun alone yes but it gets dull
without other people to play with.
If multiplayer were removed with absolutely no desire to bring it back I would give minecraft approximately 6 months to
live as a viable revenue and as an enjoyable game. You might as well say they should ban modding. That would be
about the equivalent to this cop out idea.
