In my opinion, Decoration is not a practical OR technical use for an item, I believe that every item in Minecraft needs a technical or a practical use.

Ok mate, you really don't get that the decoration is a practical use, well isn't much but in creative go for it,But like I said already 2 times quartz can be used to exp farm, but in some mods dead bush can be used as a furnace fuel.
ty man that was interesting, but can I ask you why do you always Mod the game and play on older versions of MC to make it more fun, iam always strictly vanilla, even using plugins or OptiFine in my opinion ruines MC vanilla gameplay, iam fine with playing in older versions though, I play in Minecraft Infdev and indev sometimes (had to download indev because it doesn't come default with the launcher)
Well, first of all if you've read any of my posts you'd know that I'd very much rather NOT play on a version that lags, or have to play on Peaceful difficulty due to a dumb bug they introduced in 1.7.4 - I LOVE killing hundreds of mobs per play session, even if that means I can only explore about half as many caves/mine ore at half the rate (based on an actual experience as I mentioned here); that's why I modded in many 1.7-1.8 features into 1.6.4, plus some of my own (I've actually avoided adding new blocks as much as possible; my acacia trees are made of oak leaves and jungle wood, just like when they were first added in 1.7, I even have oak saplings grow into acacia trees in savannas instead of adding new saplings). Notably absent are features which I either don't use or don't want; I could even add slime blocks (albeit without the doubly transparent rendering due to the game engine being unable to handle it) but don't see a practical use for them, and obviously changes like the cave and anvil changes are completely out of the question.
Also, there is utterly no question of me ever playing on vanilla after 1.6.4 unless something really changes about how I like to play - you should know by now that exploring the underground is the entire game to me, and the useless "customized" world type in 1.8 only lets you enable/disable most features - what is so special about dungeons and lakes that they need sliders for how common they are but not caves, mineshafts, villages, etc (oh yeah, you can actually change how common many of these are in Superflat, and caves only need a couple hard-coded numerical values changeable, so not like there are technical issues preventing that)? Plus in 1.8 they ruined anvils; I wouldn't even call reverting those changes to be modding the game, just as adding a savanna (mega taiga, mesa, birch forest, etc) biome to 1.6.4 isn't really modding.
And no, don't try to force me to change my playstyle, just as I won't bow to people who say I should try making automated farms, mainly for the sake of building them, building mainly for aesthetics, instead of mainly for functionality, and so on.
My gameplay is also essentially exactly the same as if I were playing pure vanilla - really, I'm not sure why some people are so stuck-up about vanilla. Even the amethyst tools and armor I added are nothing more than fancy diamond gear (same damage, protection, mining speed, 3x durability) that is actually reasonably rare for my playstyle (I mined over 5,000 diamond ore in one world...) and reasonably expensive to repair (with vanilla diamond gear I can easily reach 60+ levels before having to repair anything, which is plain ridiculous; diamond gear actually even gets more uses per repair in some cases despite having less durability since you can repair it more at a time).
Dirt meh,for making warfare maps or apocalyptic maps, dead bush wll for decorations on custom made deserts, dragon egg for decorations, and in some mods to actually summon a dragon.

thanks man, that was really interesting, I didn't ask you to change your playing style or anything, no offense. also how were anvils ruined in 1.8 and why do you like killing mobs and exploring the underground soo much?
Useless is a subjective term. What is useless to one person may be the greatest thing ever for another. Lapis, for example,is viewed by the community as a useless ore, but to some others it is a beautiful decorative block. Emeralds are the same way. Each item has value to at least one player.

Decoration doesn't count. Anything can be used for decoration. Anything can be used for a map, it doesn't count. If we're bringing in mods, many mods have items with no purpose whatsoever.
Just to know quartz also for exp farms.

Well, Actually, you can get it in survival after defeating the dragon.
Well... True.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Well thanks for the info(video)but I prefer using command blocks.
