Mine is when I first started the game, I thought I could use a stick for a weapon and beat Minecraft. I later learned about swords, and how sticks are ineffective against those green things. (Creepers)

Probably how I built one of my first houses. I made it out of dirt and had a wooden second floor with a pumpkin farm and my bed. The house was very small, only 4x4 or so. Anyways, I made a lava moat with a one block bridge that goes into my house. I burned in the moat and couldn't respawn in my house because a pumpkin grew next to my bed.
Just recently I was running through a field looking up at the sky to see what time of day it was and I fell into a ravine, landed in lava and lost all my stuff.
When I first downloaded Minecraft (on IOS), I didn't know about zombies. So I decided to AFK for a while and came back when the sun was setting. I decided to dig down a couple blocks and make an underground base. That's when like 3 zombies jumped down and killed me. I can't even tell you how startled I was.
Built a nice house after I bought Minecraft in winter of 2010 (Minecraft beta), it was a 2-story house that was fairly detailed and I was pretty proud of it. I decided to add a fireplace, and the second story caught fire while I was in the first story. When I saw a couple of blocks burn away, I looked up and the entire upstairs was on fire. I tried to put it out, but that was back when fire spreading was very fast and I couldn't get it put out in time... The entire house burned down except for the stone details and fireplace, and the large forest where I built the house completely burned away.
I almost wished 'fire spreading' was like it used to be... Burning down entire forests with one click of the flint and steel was fun!
Lol I remember when I didn't know the number 1 rule in MC: NEVER dig straight down. I did and could never figure out how to get back up. Also I put a torch under a piece of gravel that i was standing under😞 Suffocated
When I started playing, I made a diamond hoe thinking it would somehow speed up my crops without checking the wiki first.

I found Lapis Lazuli and thought it was diamonds.
When I actually found diamonds, I used a wood or stone pick and lost 1-2 of them.
Punch a tree.
Fell out of the world.

I once crafted two stacks of Fences, when I was actually trying to craft two stacks of Ladders for my mine.

>Jumps into lava to try getting stuff back.
>3 months later, tries to drain the whole lake to get old stuff back.
