Which is better? Minecraft by far. Sure Terraria has more items with guns but if you have mods on Minecraft, MC's item count surpasses Terraria's by far. What do you guys think?
Minecraft and Terraria are two different games and you cannot compare them, really.
Terraria has less focus on Survival and more focus on RPG-like aspects. There are bosses, a range of enemies ,weapons, armors, etc.
Minecraft focuses more on survival and building. It has a lot less-- barely any-- RPG aspects. There are so many tiers of armor and weapons, and two bosses.
"but if you have mods on Minecraft, MC's item count surpasses Terraria's by far. What do you guys think?"
Yeah - so you need mods to make the game better. for one thing comparing an lightly modded game like terraria to a heavily modded game with a huge mod community like minecraft then you cannot make statements like this. Terraria was less popular because it came out after MC and was branded by many as a 2d version of it even though it has a hell of a lot of differences and only the genre and some aspects of it that are shared.
Because the community was smaller there was less call for easy mod creation programs to be made and so fewer high quality mods. but that is besides the point as judging a game by what you can add on to it is irrelevent - that would be judging the modding community of the game rather than the game itself.
it is beyond idiotic so say one is better because it can be better when people other than the developers add things to it because that makes no sense whatsoever. would you judge 2 houses and say one was better because you could remove the roof and add on 3 extra floors more easily than the other? no of course not that would be ridiculous.
please take your mindless fanboy-ism elsewhere.

Absolutely. Each game has its own wonderful advantages, and its own wonderful community.
Minecraft is heading into update 1.9, while
Terraria is getting update 1.3 on June 30th. But this is the LAST update to Terraria!
Have no fear though, there is actually not one but TWO new Terraria games currently in devlopment.
One is called Terraria: Otherworld and is basically a simulation of what the original could have been.
And of course Terraria 2 is in devlopment, but no information whatsoever has been released for that.
depends in gameplay such as bosses terraia wins minecraft.
But in multiplayers and building minecraft wins terraia.

Both have their pros and cons it just depends on what you like I suppose.

"What do you say to lunch, followed by breakfast? Because we're time travelers, and that's how we roll! Then, cocktails with Moses, and I'm going to invent a flying submarine. Why? Because no one ever has, and it's annoying!"
As games their incomparable unless you want to just say they both have digging building and zombies. As far as content, treasure and explorability, items, and actual challenge, terraria wins hands down. For community, smooth gameplay (more casual, lets be real) and modability minecraft is your game. Both have excellent building mechanics so we're not even gonna go there. I personally think Terraria is a far better game, but if you're lookin for something to relax with Minecraft wins that.
You can also mod Terraria so the modding part becomes invalid. This is like comparing Super Smash Bros to Mortal Kombat. No one really cares they are both good games that have the almost the same objective.
In general, both games are the same genre. If someone wants to play terraria, they'll probably try minecraft too. But name a PRO in terraria-.-
Terraria is more combat oriented. As a result, it has more bosses than two barely functional pushover bosses. Terrain generation has more variety, particularly underground. There is far more in-game content, and a much longer end-game. This partly due to the combat oriented aspect- whereas Minecraft has leather, iron, gold (pretty much useless), and Diamond armour "tiers", Terraria has dozens of different armour sets, each of which has it's own set bonus which includes various effects. It has a greater selection of building materials, and higher stack sizes for hoarding.
Minecraft is more building oriented. It has fewer block types, and the game is much 'shorter' in terms of going through the actual game content, but it has more replay value after you've "done everything" because of the variety of other things you can create such as mob farms or automated sorting systems and so forth. It has less variety in terms of terrain generation but it makes up for that by being 3-d rather than 2-d, as well as the world being practically infinite.
However I think the question is a non-starter. Games are not mutually exclusive. I play Minecraft as a "go to" game and have had the same world since before release, but I've been playing Terraria a lot since 1.3 dropped last Tuesday, too.
