This game has no objective, so there is no way to play it poorly as there is no way to fail.
I disagree. If you are playing on a PVP server and you have 100 deaths and 2 kills, I'd say you are playing PVP poorly. If you are playing survival and you keep falling in lava or getting killed by creepers, even though it's on easy mode, I'd say you are playing survival poorly. If you build a box house made out of dirt, I'd say you are building poorly. Just because a game is a sandbox does not mean that all gameplay is the same quality. Someone like Madnes64 who is famous on youtube for building awesome things will be considered by most a better player than the average 9 year old on a PVP server. I'm just saying. I'm tired of this political correctness and the excuse that this is a sandbox so there's no wrong way to play.
Guys. Its a game that is chchild-friendly. Therefore, children will play it either way. Plus, whats wrong with children playing minecraft? Im 13
because little kids take every thing to serious, cry over little things (like being griefed or trolled) are very annoying and lack any ability for social skills we all had these problems at one time but as we get older we out grow them and become more mature (well we hope so) when i was 6 or so i never played online (that was a long time ago and MP was based more on split screen over online)
but look what happened to cod when it went mainstream and all the kiddies needed to play it.

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
I´m way over 30, started in minecraft 1.7, and I don´t get at all what the problem is. Apart from the fact that 1.8 has lag issues (and should have had a warning sign saying DO NOT OPEN YOUR OLD WORLD IN THIS), it´s great. I have started many worlds, and the variety is still awesome. The weirdness, greatness, hugeness of mountains are still the same. That´s my impression.
And server-wise? There are THOUSANDS of servers. Many of them are really only PVP diamond-buffs killing off casual players. That´s boring, so I don´t go there. I like building, and so I like creative places. I like minigames, and so I go to those servers. Some of them have alot of pay-to-win kids, and so I don´t go to those perticular places. After all there are so incredibly many servers to choose from. My son, who is six, plays online to occasionally. No problem there, he can go about at his own pace. Why not?
And also. This expression "The Minecraft Community". It DOES NOT EXIST, as described by some. The millions of people playing are such a diverse mass, speaking hundreds of different languages, being all ages and genders. The sense of it someone at some tme may have had was just tat place, there and then. Such feelings of community are fleeting, in the real world as in the (perhaps equally real) virtual world. Cherish it while it lasts, and live on.
I love minecraft. I can build awesome things, experience thrilling survival situations, and create adventure maps (which with the new features is SO fun). There is no decline in sight for a LONG time!
(And besides all that, if you like, say, 1.7.1 then PLAY THAT VERSION. WHat´s the problem?)
That´s all I had. Peace off
i think the OP was talking about beta 1.7 which is not even close to 1.7

Sure, the Nostalgia is nice but there's people who would actually like to see Minecrfat improve. Although the absurd amount of vacations the devs are taking is appalling recently. We could really use more updates to existing features, and more survival based features instead of map making.

Then stick to single player and 1.7

You guys are acting like pvpers don't care about building and creativity. Truth is, we do.
Just because you met 3 bad people doesn't mean everyone else is like that.

More of this stuff eh? Still beating dead horses.

Figured it was time for a change.
Actualy I like 1.8 with new blocks, new doors, new animals.
My problem since 1.7 is the boat. I broke more boats than 1.5.2.
Controling the boat in 1.5.2 was easier than now.
Of course, I could change the version to 1.5.2 but I like playing adventure mods much of time are for 1.7.
