I kind of feel like Minecraft has become a little irrelevant there's not a server out there that is popular anymore. Most of them run on the same theme for the most part and yeah, I've noticed that a lot of servers lose populations from the inexplicable nature of the servers themselves. You see a lot of common fixtures, like donations, anti-greef, PVP, PVE, Hunger Games, etc.. The same can be said about Role-Play servers, but I made that topic a long while back, whilst I was still interested in RP. The fact is, Minecraft multiplayer is becoming boring, and it's suffering in the viability because it's the same theme repeated, over, and over again. So my question is: what would happen if every Minecraft server accepted, and allowed griefing once again?
I don't see how making so every server allowed people to just run up and destroy all your creations that you spent months making is going to make the game fun. At least, not for anyone besides the griefers. This would make multiplayer completely terrible.
Also, multiplayer isn't becoming boring. You're just bored of multiplayer. How you feel does not reflect the community as a whole.

You owe me an apology by assuming things about me that you had no right in asserting, poor form. I've had things in minecraft destroyed so many times by hacked clients that it really doesn't bother me. I even destroy my own creations to make them even better when no one is looking. How would you know that minecraft multiplayer is becoming boring? Are you on every server? Do you know how everyone feels about the server? Have you ever decided just to add an IP to your account; just to count the population vs. the population cap of each server?
Griefing isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it depends on the individual carrying out the griefing. Once you get over that griefers aren't griefing just to be jerks, but doing it just to find an outlet for their boredom. You begin to see the world a little differently.
Look I know how people feel about griefers, I use to trash talk griefers all the time when I started playing this game. But honestly, I am to the point that, a Griefer in itself is just as much a viable play style as a Builder, PVP'er, and RP'er. All of you are by definition prejudiced against Griefer's because Griefing is by itself is seen negatively. Should you be so dead-set against Griefer's when Notch, Jeb, and the rest of the Mojang team haven't said anything about it?
Even if I am talking about a contested topic like griefing, which is loathed by probably 99% of the minecraft community. And everyone is just as guilty as having a closed mind about griefing as those people who want to grief. Where is the compromise in having an acknowledgement that maybe, just maybe griefing was a means to an end. Mind you, I am not saying get rid of anti-grief on creative servers. But maybe let people break things, when wondrous constructs lay there un-used just to look pretty.

Just because you think griefing should be accepted and endorsed everywhere, doesn't mean that everyone does. In the end, it all comes down to whether or not the server owner wants to have that kind of thing on his/her server. Also, Mojang is not affiliated with any servers, and the only control they have over the server's decisions is stated clearly in their EULA.
P.S. Notch has officially resigned from Mojang, and is no longer active with any of it's products. Including Minecraft. Check your facts before you rant, otherwise you come off as pretentious and needy.

It's okay to be yourself. Just don't do anything illegal. That's a no-no.

I said it should be accepted because there's no reason why it shouldn't be. I didn't say that it needed to be endorsed. And I surely didn't say that it should be prejudiced against. However I am saying that there is a prejudice against griefer's, I had the same mindset until I came to the conclusion that the game was designed with destructible terrain. So yes, Notch is at the heart of this argument because he created the game, with the help of Mojang as such the game has terrain that can be destroyed while being played. Please pay more attention, I was posing a question not saying it should be so everywhere.
Furthermore, this has more to do with the player base who is prejudiced against griefing. As much as it's an irrational sentimentality towards pre-arranged blocks that you, me, and others have put hours toward. Don't espouse that I am coming off as pretentious and needy, because it's indicating an insult that you do not want to admit. Which would come off as cowardly, in my book.

First things first. Of course griefers are prejudiced against. By definition, they are bad. That's like saying, "That convicted arsonist should get some slack. After all, he only did it because he thought the place was just there to look pretty, and he was looking for a thrill." Second, you said "... griefing, which is loathed by probably 99% of the minecraft community" will never get accepted into every server.
Putting that aside, I'd like to make a friendly recommendation. I found a server that seems to fit you (as far as I can tell by what you've posted here) after a quick internet search. It's called EmeraldBattleCraft. Check it out here.
Bottom line: Personally speaking, I don't think griefing will ever be universally accepted, but there are some places that welcome it. If that knid of thing tickles your fancy, check out the server I found for you.

Yeah, but that by itself is taking real life philosophies and applying them to a computer game. We really shouldn't be applying real life to a game when we're just trying to have fun. Granted some peoples ideas of fun are more sadistic than others, but hey even sadistic people find their sadist kicks elsewhere, at someone elses expenses. They're not limited to just Minecraft. At the same time however it's a mindset that people grow attached to the things they build, when really this is a game. While I am completely in acknowledgement that this type of behavior wouldn't be fair to push onto build servers. Build servers don't really attract a lot of people either as of late.
