I want to hear what people think IF 1.8 was the last update, regardless of what happened outside the game. What would you do, and would you be satisfied with it? I personally would be, I would still play it as normal, and maybe look up some mods that I want to play with. A good thing would be that, it would be nice to know the mods won't break anymore.
Well, no. Minecraft's new features every update are always great! They add more things to do, they fix bugs, and so on. Also, I cannot wait for 1.8.1+ to come. That lag needs to go.
I'd be mad I want the stupid lag in 1.8 to go ! Water is ruining the fun especially if you like to create underwater bases I mean the top of the water seems to lag ,but when you're underwater it usually can go fine ,but after you surfaced it just lags :/
I would be extremely disappointed in Mojang. Or Microsoft. Or whoever. I oftentimes don't like Minecraft's updates (1.8 was actually an exception to that) but the game displays a lot of potential which can be achieved so long as the Mojangsters focus on the right aspects of the game and implement the right features. Obviously that can't happen if the game doesn't update.
Also 1.8 is quite buggy and leaving the game in this state would be a shame. I actually got a small performance boost after I turned VBOs on, but the game has become extremely boring since hostile mobs show up very infrequently and are pretty weak and stupid so I never end up dying.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
New features are exciting in my opinion. I wouldn't be overly concerned if there were no more updates, but it would be kind of disappointing. I think there are plenty of things that need to be fixed or added.
I think that once they get to the point where the game can be "updated" by the community (I.E., there are several mods that everyone uses and those act as the new updates), Mojang can stop, and I will be content. But as it is, no
No. Just no. Minecraft is not finished. Realistically, it's very far from finished. Technically, it's more than finished, the 1.0 update being the time Minecraft stepped out from its Beta stages.
There was a person saying this quote but I forgot who it was but it goes something like this:
"Perfection is not when there's nothing to add, but if there's nothing to take away."
I'd be alright with it. I enjoyed the game just fine with 1.7.
Although, I would prefer if they decided to do something about the lag in 1.8...

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
Figured it was time for a change.

I used to have a good signature, but it got nerfed.
