Hey guys, We all know that making a server required lots of patience, hard work, and money. Why can't servers be easy to make? Port-fowarding must be hell on earth, setting up the server takes time, you need to know all your things like your ip address, and.... I don't have experience with server making. But does anyone know why it takes so much time? And what would you think if Mojang added a server making option, which allowed you to create a server just in a five minutes?

This is some basic networking knowledge, While Minecraft Realms is a great way for people who just simply want to start a server without the fuss, actually taking the time to learn something new may eventually help you with other situations in networking and computers
Minecraft Realms is a good way out of it, but why couldn't it be like other consoles, make a world, and convert it into a server or something?

How do other games what have a server list work? You can host a game, and it appears on the list, and players can connect to it. But you do not need to port forward. How does this work? Games like these always have a master server so that must have something to do with it...
(Over internet)4th, if you are using a router you have to make sure it opens the server's port for you. In your router you need to do this by setting up the "Port Forwarding" or "Virtual Server", usually you need to make a new record there, it will ask a port number, this is your servers port (default "7777"), it will ask for an IP address as well, this is your LAN IP address (not the Internet IP address). Also, make sure that that the list in "Port Forwarding"/"Virtual Server" is the list of "allowed" connections, if it's not then don't make any record (if you made one, you can delete it and it means that this should not be your problem).
Servers are often made using Hamachi. This removes the need of having to port-forward, but is less secure than port forwarding.NOTE: It says doing it that way removes the need to portforward, ergo setting it up normally requires it.
Hosting IssuesMake sure your Firewall is off, or allows Terraria access to the network.
If you continue to have issues creating a server due to an inability to forward your ports, use Hamachi. This 3rd party software is a viable option to launch and connect to servers without having to port forward. We will be working towards a simpler automatic solution in the near future.

Anyways, making a server isn't that hard. It requires a bit of technical knowledge, but nothing 10 minutes on google won't fix. The hard part is finding your router info and accessing those settings. But that is also why Realms and server hosting sites exist.

If you really can't find out how to port-forward, then you could look into Hamachi. It should take care of the connection for you, but the big downside of this is that everyone who plays on your server then needs Hamachi and needs to configure it well, so I'd suggest to only use it if you really can't get port-forwarding to work.
It isn't mojang's problem that you have to port forward it is actually a security feature without it you would get a lot of viruses. On mojang's part the made it as easy as downloading and installing. Ill tell you a little on how to do it
step 1, search for cmd or command prompt
step 2 type in ipconfig in command prompt
step 3 look for a default gateway
step 4 type in your default gateway address in your internet
step 5 put in your routers username and password if you don't know what it is call up your routers company and ask them for default username and passwords
step 6 look for a port forward button somewhere or if your router has a search the search port forward
step 7 choose to make a custom port if you have it
step 8 type in 25565 into the port forwarding place
step 9 choose to port forward with tcp and udp and if you don't have that option just make 2 ports one with tcp and one with udp
at step 5: the most common default username/pasword combinations are:
Username: admin
no password (simply leave the field blank)
No username
password: admin
uername: admin
password: admin
If those don't work, then you'll probably be able to find the default password in the manual or on the internet. If the default passwords don't work and nobody remembers the username/password combination, then you can reset your router by pressing the reset button on the router itself.
I cant set a server, and i would be happy if we could just convert our world instead of making lots and lots of things. Because that things, is hard for a newbie of programming (becuz im already in Minecraft for a long time) to make these.
Minecraft Realms you have to pay. We already payed for the game, we now want to make a server to join wth friends, and why other people can make a server freely and we not, because we arent genius of internet/minecraft or something?
One resume for my post: No everybody knowns of programming and have enough cash to pay realms.
You don't need to know how to program to host a Minecraft server. You can just download the server file from http://minecraft.net. Then copy the world you want to play on into the same folder as the server jar/exe and rename it to world. Finally, you set up either port-forwarding (reccomended) or Hamachi (in all else fails) and run the server.
If you need help with any of that, feel free to ask. I can talk you trough every step of setting up a server.

This person pretty much explained simply how to resolve your issue, you don't need any programming skills at all , no c++ is required, no javascript , just your internet ip and lan ip is required, port-forward, and voila! Deed's done.

They made Minecraft Realms for this purpose/reason.

Portforwarding, yes, but you don't need to configure your router/IP settings or portforward yourself

You're either paying for a dedicated server (Realms, Any Dedicated service), Or paying for your internet/bandwith usageInternet isn't free lol
