I'm a cracked user myself , but If I COULD pay online I WOULD , and there are no minecraft gift cards etc in my country , I'm against people able to buy it but cracking , but i'm not against ones cracking it because they are not able to pay , like me .
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.

You don't need a gift card to get minecraft, you can buy it on minecraft.net
I am okay with cracked users if they buy it after they try it but if they don't buy it they just play it for free until they get bored that's wrong, my opinion anyways

Then why can't people just try the demo on minecraft.net
Cracking can be good for determining how good a game is before throwing your money at it, but yeah, you shouldn't use it for a permanent thing. If the developers spend time into making their game the best it can be, they deserve the money.
I used to use a cracked version when I first started playing Minecraft. Of course that was before the actual demo was released. Nowadays, there really isin't an excuse to use cracked anymore.
Just like Owen just said, why not to try the demo? its the same game with limited content, but has just enough to show what the game is like.
I agree with jedi because in the demo they don't even have a lick of survial/minigames only 4-5 year old creative mode and survival/minigames is quite a big aspect of the game once you buy it
hmm so say if I played a cracked version for an hour while I tried to figure out if survival was fun or not and I actually bought the game after seeing if I like it, unless the game is subscription or time based is the developer losing anything? No they still got their money and I got an hour play time before i bought it, and that makes no difference because you have the game forever. its essentially the same thing as going over to a friends house and trying it except your "friend" is just someone who posted a crack and if you like it then you buy it, your not a thief but if you play it for a long time and enjoy it but don't actually buy it that in my opinion if theft.
I personally think that cracking was only useful when people wanted to try the game before buying. Nowadays with demo mode you can get a taste of survival and creative. If people want to play minigames on servers, that's an extra incentive to buy the game.

I mean, if you have the money and you want to show support, you should definitely buy the game but other than that, I don't care.
Basically sums up my opinion. If they can't afford minecraft and just want to play with a few friends, I don't see why not.
Its not like they have lots of options as cracked players.

I personally think that Demos are generally to restrictive to get a good taste, so I don't frown on people who play with a cracked copy for a while before they buy the game. My issue with demos is that they restrict content that could make or break the game for some. For me, I wouldn't ever be able to stand playing MC if not for multiplayer.
something that people from countries, where buying online is a common practice, don't know that in countries like mine the it's hard to have a credit card, so kids and teenagers find difficult to buy the original product, a lot of people have the money but theres is no way to actually buy the thing, until you have a friend with parents that have a bloody credit card. or after you grown up and spend years in university plus a year working to actually meet the requirements for the banks.
