So who agrees Minecraft should have an animated movie by now? I think it would be a great idea and I think it could PARTIALLY be animated by a you tuber. (CaptainSparklez, Slamacow ect.) I also think it should include some music made by you-tubers (Slamacow, MusicByPedro ect.) I also think it should include the EnderDragon or Herobrine as the "Villain."
minecraft becoming a movie is an awful idea. there are way better games that should be a movie over minecraft like gears of war, uncharted, kill zone , the last of us. they are a few reasons why it would suck. one it would be low budget there no way a big company would put more then a million $ in it. two minecraft is a fun game and all but going to a movie would be lame what would it be a guy making a pickaxe and then mining some rocks. three the annoying fan-base theres already a huge 5 year old fan base that sucks. four minecraft has no story so adding one in a movie would make no sense. five again i would rather see some action packed video game like dead rising 2 to be a movie it would be awesome to see chuck greene to be killing hundreds of zombies with a paddle saw.
i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

Point #1: Minecraft has sold over 12,000,000 copies on the computer and 10,000,000 pocket edition. Totaling together in $359,880,000 for the computer and $49,900,000$ for the pocket edition. Together, $409,780,000 dollars, and thats not including the Xbox version or JINX merchandise. So I don't see why thy couldn't invest a couple million dollars into a movie
Point #2: The movie doesn't have to be about a guy "Mining stone and making a pick" In fact, LEGO is coming out with a movie and LEGO is a toy! It doesn't have a story! I also don't think it would be lame, it would actually be pretty cool, think of it as a extended Minecraft Animation by Slamacow or something.
Point #3: Although Minecraft does have a considerable amount 5 year old fans, the majority of the fan-base is 10-17. Some are even older, and some even younger.
Point #4: Yeah, I kinda covered that in Point #2.
Point #5: Thats a sense of opinion, although that would be pretty awesome
Thanks for the opinion!

no offense taken
now i have some come backs for what you said with respect
1. remeber minecraft has been out since 2009 so lots of sales are very old and lots have been put back into the company they aslo could put that money to hire more people so updates become bigger and out faster.
2. when ever you talk about a youtuber it has fail written all over it. because from there fans they are hated by many like slamacow he may be big to minecraft fans but to cod fans or bf4 fans he means nothing and they could find him annoying (like i do) also the lego moive has lots of different things form minecraft they can have super hereos villans and everything thats been in lego
3. yes there are some older fans but the movie would make little kids flock to it and some older people could be made fun of because of all the little kids.
4. yes and again for a producer it would be better with a big name like Morgan freeman
5.we all have are own thoughts but even if minecraft had its own movie i would still go to it.
thanks you made me look at this subject a different way and i respect what you have to say

I'm going to say why I think this shouldn't be a movie.
1. If it were to go in theaters, it would be like the Ben 10 movie, it would just rack in money from poor parents who take their kids to see it. Also, those kids would make a new "Movie" fanbase, which we already have the PC fanbase, the Xbox fanbase, the Ipod fanbase, and the SkydoesMinecraft fanbase, and I want to say a movie fanbase would be like the Ipod fanbase, the players that have no idea what the game is about, nor what the PC (Full) version is about, because all they know is what the few things featured are.
2. A youtube series, such as Dig Build Live, is based around one plot. That plot can be turned into a map, or into something that replicates it. Doing a movie would probably spam the map section with "Minecraft: The Movie recreation!". Although that is a theory, it may very well happen.
3. It will be over hyped. Yep, that's it, and when you make a movie about a video game, it is much worse that what you do in the video game. It's like books to movies, the first one made is always better. Minecraft will probably get put down (Disliked, not killed) by what the people have seen.
4. It will cost too much. Mojang, I'm betting, would still like to keep most of their money, instead of making a movie with no profits.
5. I'd prefer a minecraft TV show, only if it were an official/non official one on youtube. Putting it on TV would kind of... not work out so well. Kind of like #1, it would create a new fanbase, which wouldn't be so nice.

I honestly don't think that they should turn minecraft into a movie. What are they going to do? Just record them surviving? If I wanted to watch that, I would go to some youtubers channel. There are countless survival videos/series out on youtube so I don't see the point on making a movie for it...

It wouldn't be ACTUAL minecraft gameplay, it would be animated.

Ha! I saw it. It was pretty good actually! Minecraft: The Story Of Mojang. It was more of a documentary though
If you are talking about a animated movie, then no. You see, minecraft was made to be a sandbox game, a game where there is no storyline and you can build whatever you want. So if minecraft was in a movie, what would be the plot? Just some guy building random things in the lonely world of singleplayer? I don't think that would be exciting. For example, if you made a movie about the new game "Call Of Duty Ghosts," it would acually be exciting because in the game, the campaign has a storyline you have to follow. You have to find and kill this guy. So you can make a movie about the U.S. Ghost squad finding and killing the evil villian. But in minecraft, you have a guy that it just mining stone for hours and hours trying to find diamonds. And then all of a sudden Steve says "I should make a gigantic statue of myself with A diamond block in my hand!" Now you would be saying, WHAT THE HECK KINDA OF A MOVIE IS DAT??????? I know! No storyline to follow, random stuff can just happen. The plot will be smothered with randomness and junk. In my example, the plot wouldn't be smothered with random stuff. The Ghosts have a exact mission to follow and it is just like that in the game. But after you watch the movie and play minecraft, you would be like, OH NOW I HAVE TO BUILD A STATUE OF THIS GUY NAMED STEVE!!!! That would make things confusing. Minecraft the game is a game where you can do anything you want. But minecraft the movie says that you have to mine some dirt with a pick, build a gigantic statue of Steve, then you have to give a creeper a hug.
My Point Is: You are giving the game a plot when in the game you can do whatever you want.
Minecraft has no story, so making one up for a movie would likely lead to it being terrible, seeing as even movies made out of games with plots are already terrible. Any movie would no doubt be nothing but a bad gimmick, and the same goes for a T.V. show.

Tell Me What You Think!
Yeah, thats what I thought people would say, but the animation would be great!
