I think that minecraft should be made into a professional movie, I think this because it is a very popular game so it would get quite a fey people buying it and the way minecraft is it means that it could actually make a fairly good story-line and would look pretty cool. Please comment on your ideas and opinions.
It would be really cool for a movie (not a big professional one) to be recorded in Minecraft with a story, but not to make the movie about Minecraft. So it is like an animated movie, but made using Minecraft instead of animation software.
Lego is releasing a movie in the semi-near future, I believe. I don't know if it'll be good, but it does show that some company might be willing to make a movie based on a sandbox game.
I'd probably watch a Minecraft movie.
No. Not just because there is no line, protagonist or antagonist, but that's abusing the comercial power. We don't want Minecraft to be made into movies and more games like Angry Birds or Minions (those were really exagerated). Minecraft is just a game to play, not a clothes-sleeves-pijamas-pillow company.
If one day, this happens, Minecraft will die. That's an error many companies make, for example: Star Wars.
I took a look at all of your posts and I can see that almost all of you are saying no. Most of you are saying no because you say that Minecraft is a open ended sandbox game and it doesn't have a main story-line but as one of you pointed out that lego have made many, many movies and although lego isn't a video game it is open ended and doesn't really have a main story-line. Plus there are fan groups like Dig Build Live that have made some pretty good minecraft movies and they are amateur video makers (besides getting money from YouTube).

actually I guess you are right.
Do you have a title list of all these Lego "movies" that have been released? There have been plenty of Lego games based on other action movies, like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Batman, etc. but cut scenes in a video game don't count, nor do Direct to Video productions, if any exist.
The upcoming Lego Major Motion Picture to be released in theaters is the only one I know of to date.
To be honest, I always wanted Empire Earth and Command & Conquer to be made into movies, but no one ever did - so, just like with Minecraft, there is probably a very good reason no one will make a movie of these games.
There have been several video game based movies in the last few years but I can't name them because that's how memorable they were.
Damn, you beat me to posting that. Off topic slightly, acting in that machinima was undeniably fun, especially whenever funny mishaps happened.
OT: Even if it was as well done as the Minecraftian, I would never pay to see a Minecraft movie. Leave it to the fans doing it for fun rather than money grubbing Hollywood producers.

Ah, yes I see your name in there. Minecraftian was a great movie. If the director is working on something else next year, could you please ask if I could join in?

Eh, I don't really keep in touch with Joshua. Besides, I'm pretty sure he has a small group of friends who help him with his machinimas now. He is in the middle of a new machinima movie though.
I'd probably watch a Minecraft movie.
