Other than an initial snowy forest, all I get are savannahs and deserts. One after the other, after the other. I have gone so far from where I was. I am curious if anyone else has experience a lack of biomes.
Uh I am not talking about what someone mentioned in a youtube channel. And volcanoes are not mentioned in the update. I have created a lot of new map and just get the same two biomes over and over.
Got a several types of Extreme Hills (with trees, large stone areas), Sunflower Plains, Flower Forest and Roofed Forest nearby spawn, looks beautiful btw. Definitely not seeing a lack of biomes.
Good question, I never saw the so called volcano biomes which were mentioned on someones Youtube channel.
Not that I give a crap because you can build volcanoes yourself, just fill a hole made with tnt on top of a mountain with lava and there you go. 1.7 was VERY disappointing. Don't expect much for 1.8 or 1.9. it's pointless.
Mojang has never said anything about volcano biomes. It's naive to think that "someone's" statement on youtube or wherever is automatically correct, check the actual facts first.
I get a desert and then savannah. Then I get desert again with big sand hills. Then I get savannah with some hills. Then I get flat savannah or desert. I got like one tiny forest. in it so far. Only upside is that I found a desert temple with gold and gold horse armor. But I may sacrifice it and have it rolled back due to the lack of biomes on the map since I started this trek.
Oh I did get an ocean to spawn that I am currently sitting in the middle of going back to my ranch (built in 1.6). But the ocean didn't help the biome issue.
Yeah complain complain. What did you want? WHAT DID YOU WANT? You got it now why you all complain. Every update community just complain about something. Roses flower are removed ,but you have a rose bush and rose is originally a bush. Where are all the fantastc biomes? Why don't you search until you find a disco biome.... Oh my NOTCH. Mojang listens to community ,but community has some reason to blame Mojang for something instead shutting their lousy mouth and enjoy what Mojang brings to us. Sign
Did you run out of your medication? There are doctors that can help you with your psycho rants. I posted because I am having a problem with biomes generating. You have a problem with anger. I am sure there is a fix for both of us lol.Oh and I personally have no issue with the rose rename. And I like the bushes.
Keep trying because a map I am playing, I spawned in a jungle, next to a Savannah, next to a mesa and I found several others within about 1/2 hour of exploring.
they exist, some are much more rare than others. Spawning in a jungle was pure luck, so I kept it because they are few and far between.
Was looking around to find a place for spawn on a new server I created with a friend today. We found Mega Tiaga, Mesa, sunflower planes, TONS of Savannah, and Roofed forest, birch forest.... lots of the new biomes.. only one we haven't found is the spiked icy planes. My suggestion is to go into creative mode and look because its almost impossible to travel the distance on foot. The new extreme hills with mostly stone are ugly IMO... and the mesa didn't need yellow stained clay :P... the Mega Tiaga can look a bit weird with the mossy stone boulders... but if it had an abundance of spruce it'd look better. Good luck hopefully you find a beautifully spawned variants and versions of what we found. the world gen can work great sometimes and suck horribly sometimes!
This why I hate the Community sometimes, Honestly I can go ranting about that here but let me make it simple.
When a New Update comes out people rant and complain about the features that "they' though was going to be a cool new thing, They feel disappointed and let other people in there mindless rage. Yes, I do agree however about what we paid for, and what we're getting out of that, But common people, Have some common sense, stop whining, take in a breath of fresh air, and appreciate what new additions are to the game. I could not give a single bit of care but that's beside the point, I just want to straiten something up, So ya there you go.
Many of the new biomes are rare - and can be grouped according to the type of temperature, so you have to keep looking.
I found a mesa (I built my house there), and a roofed forest (I never attempted to enter it) in my survival world.
So I take it there's no source for the volcano biome claim?

It's FireRockerzStudios. He's a "news expert" that's full of baloney. He's been talking about Red Dragons and sharks for a long time.
OT: The reason you haven't been finding a ton of new biomes is because biomes have now been grouped so that no snow biomes generate next to deserts and stuff like that.

I should have known he started it. What a douche.

You've got some strange luck then, or I do. Every map I've ever created is overrun with seemingly endless jungles in every direction.

You have some very strange luck indeed. (Figuratively) infinite deserts and savannas isn't too inconceivable, but infinite jungles? I scarcely played the update, but the only biomes I haven't seen with my own eyes are jungles and ice spikes (I actually spawned directly in a mesa when I was testing out the new tree saplings).
A large amount of repeating biomes is a side-effect of the new transition system. The one that doesn't actually fix the transition problems (annoying, isn't it?). I feel bad for you, but if you explore enough or create enough worlds you should find a new set of infinitely repeating biomes.
On an off-topic note: anyone else find it funny that we've already gotten people bashing the OP? He simply stated "Hey, where are all the new fantastic biomes we were promised? I can't find them anywhere in my worlds" and two people run out and start bashing him claiming that the community does nothing but complain and that we got exactly what we wanted. Jeez. If you're one of those two people or someone coming to do the same thing, actually try reading the thread first instead of looking at the title and descending into a mindless rage. And at least take the time to learn that what we got in 1.7 isn't what the people on the terrain threads wanted.
In 1.7 you had to create multiple worlds to get the one you wanted.
In 1.7 you had the incentive to explore.
In 1.7 there were no ugly biome transitions.
In 1.7 oceans weren't so ridiculously large.
Compare 1.7 to...1.7!
...Well, that was fairly random. Though Release 1.7 has less of an incentive to explore than Beta 1.7 and has worse transitions as well. Not to mention that you didn't have to recreate worlds repeatedly to get one you wanted in either generator, since you could just walk to a different area (in Beta to get to a different kind of landform or biome, and in Release to get to a more desirable biome group... though that takes considerably more time unless you want something very specific for Beta).
