Okay so, I see a lot of posts from people suggesting things or wishing things were in the game. But there's always those people who say "Well if you want it in the game just mod it and quit ing". Some people don't want to mod the game, They want to see their idea in the game as a legitimate part of the game. If people keep relying on mods for things then whats the point of the updates? Next time someone has an idea thats already a mod please keep your mouth shut, They probably already know its a mod and the last thing they want to hear is some "elitist" telling them what to do and insulting them... Just some food for thought.

Not everyone wants the same things to be in the game, either.
Let's say that Al wants sharks in the oceans. Bob doesn't want sharks. Now, there are two possibilities: if Mojang adds sharks to the game, then Al will be happy, but Bob will be unhappy -- he's been enjoying playing a game without sharks, and here the devs have gone and changed it. On the other hand, if sharks are available as a mod, then the people who want sharks in the game can have it that way, and the people who don't want sharks in the game can have it that way, too. Al and Bob are both happy. It's a win/win.
And take it from a moderator, people don't know what's available for the game. I've seen people say "could someone please make a mod that does such-and-such?" and people point him to three that already exist that do what he wants.
What's the point of updates? Hopefully, some day a mod API. Stability. Things that can't easily be added by modding, like new biomes. A lot of things that do not involve adding sharks because Al wants them there.

First of all, I don't think you understand the meaning of the word "elitist".
Second, I'm not sure what prompted this topic of yours, but my guess is that you suggested that something be added to vanilla Minecraft, and your idea was shot down by people that did not like it, and who pointed out that there was already a mod for it anyway.
Now there's nothing wrong with thinking that something is "so good" that it should actually be in vanilla, but you have to accept that not everyone will agree with you. And as Akynth said, the key advantage to mods is that they are NOT forced on everyone. They allow people to play the game how they want. That's what mods are for.
Expecting and demanding that something you like be forced on everyone, just because you are too lazy to learn how to install a mod, sounds a little bit selfish to me.

No I was reading another post and saw how crappy people were getting when some dude had a suggestion for a mob. Kinda irked me. I like mods and all, Im not against them. I would just like to see people discuss something rather than dismiss it with an "Im right" (or elitist) attitude.

This is the internet. There will always be people that think they're right even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the opposite.
Personally, I would prefer that "Vanilla Minecraft" be as simple and, well, Vanilla as is possible. This would allow Mojang to focus on game mechanics instead of adding/removing things, and let the modders have the freedom of defining different game rules.
According to a video from 2012 I saw recently one of the end goals (at that time) was to make MC so modular when the API is finished that any, or even all elements of Vanilla could be replaced by 3rd party Mods, or Resource packs.
The more that's in the base game, the more would have to be changed for API compliance if this is still a goal.

i love mods they make minecraft 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

i love how you didnt even reply to the one person who explained the opposing side logicaly and in an understanable way. but then went out looking for someone who either agreed with you or made a dumb counter argument XD i agree with Akynth. you don't want to mod? well not everyone wants your (often obsure and weird) suggestion in game. no its not a valed response to someone making a suggestion. but more often then not if that reply gets posted the OP is normally "i want X feature now because it would be awesome COMON MOJANG WE NEED IT!!1!1!!1"
in that case yes. telling the OP to calm down and install a mod is probably a good idea. also allot of the time people suggest a mod to someone who makes a suggestion becaus theyobviouslly would like that feature in game. so why wouldnt they like the idea of a mod that adds it? if someone doesnt want to mod then i guess they didnt want the feature. "i want this feature in game but im to lazy/dont like to mod so make it vanilla" is a really poor excuse. now if your internet is bad or something then you have SOME justifacation.
