Seriously, I can understand the appeal for almost all of those skins except the emo-hair hoodie one. Why do so many people like that one? I see nothing good about it. At best it's mediocre.
Because people don't want to waste 10 - 20 minutes making their own 'dream skin' and they don't want to look like a noob and be part of the stevepocalypse. Unfortunately people like you put so much importance on it even though it doesn't matter at all and judge them based on their skin. Seriously I've seen a Chewbacca skin hate thread and the op said it's a serious problem. Ignorance ignorance ignorance.

Just because you didn't make something yourself, doesn't mean it's bad... The skin I'm using is a skin made by Frossaproductions for his minecraft TF2 meet the team videos, and it doesn't have a hoodie, emo hair or headphones.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."
I have a slightly unoriginal skin, it's a derp ice cream skin (my profile picture is outdated). It's not as overused as some, but it's pretty popular. I would change it, and I'm not bad at making skins, but the only problem is I can never think of what to make :c

I don't use this account anymore. My new one is called "fluorescent!"
I swear all the youtuber skins get my little brother crazy. He knows who the youtubers are and recognizes them by their skins but can't read so everytime he sees a noob with a youtuber skin he goes frantic.
Oh God, the hoodie skins. Make it stop, please, they are just so BAD. Yea, I may have what has been classified as an "overused" skin here, but at least it makes sense with my name (Mob in a suit - chicken head).

Step 1:choose something you like.
Step 2:NO EMO HAIR.
Step 3:make it basic, but with cool tweaks(mine has the sides from the polo shirt, white high boots and a ghast face on the said shirt.)
If you want sunglasses, I recommend putting them on top of your head.
Step 4:Don't forget the insides!
Step 5:If you followed my tips, you should be OK and original. If not well...
A better question would be what ISN'T on your list. It seems like you've covered 99% of skins. Some of these really can't even be considered overused.
Allow me to go against the flow just a little bit here and agree with this. This is more listing any skins that use certain aspects/style of design as being overused.
Before I continue, here's a shameless showing-off of my skin.
I use a skin that would technically falls under the "big-eyed, short shorts" description. With millions of skins and a limited number of pixels, you can only do so much, and you still won't be unique in everything. I took core concepts from about two skins, but basically about every pixel has been gone over by me, so this is my own "original" skin.
Remember that there's only an 8 x 8 area to work with in the example of the face, of which the eyes obviously take up even less, so you can only do so much variety there. In this design example, for females, it's generally a "cute style" to have larger eyes. It's simply a part of style, and I opted to use this style for mine.
As per the other part, I don't understand the "where'd the decency go" over shorter leg coverings.
Ha, Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that, yes, a lot of what you listed is true. A lot of these types of skins exist and are common, but there's limited possibilities for a lot of design aspects because of the low resolution nature of things, and then there's reasons that a lot of them exist. If you want to toss my skin in with the many other big-eyed, short-shorts and indecent ones though, feel free, ha. It could be seen as one, afterall! I simply wanted to offer another perspective and some discussion for thought, as I tend to look at each skin for more than a few "overrused design aspects" rather than lumping them together. I like to try and look at them for the bigger whole, even if the aspects that make them up are limited and some more common than others.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone on this topic. I might have it locked, so that this doesn't cause trouble. My only intention was to promote the creation of more original skins, not to discriminate anybody with their skin of choice. If any admin wants to lock this thread, please do so, as I don't want trouble with anybody on MCF. Thank you.

Same 2x2 eyes with irises toward the center. The hair always slants diagonally approximately 1 pixel away from the left eye.
Everything.

But it's also very original and I've never seen it used.
