1. The only passive mobs that spawn in light level 7 or less
2. Only good for scaring you (How would you like it if you were mining in a dark cave and you see something flying towards you!?)
3. They always commit suicide ( I've seen at least 3 fly into lava)
4. DON'T. DROP. ANYTHING.
I know people always want new mobs in Minecraft, but I think they should see it from a Survival perspective.
1. The only passive mobs that spawn in light level 7 or less That's a reason to hate them? I don't think bats everywhere is a good idea....
2. Only good for scaring you (How would you like it if you were mining in a dark cave and you see something flying towards you!?) That's what they are meant for
3. They always commit suicide ( I've seen at least 3 fly into lava) That's a problem with the AI, true
4. DON'T. DROP. ANYTHING. They are meant for adding a bit of variety into the game, and what should bats drop anyways?
I know people always want new mobs in Minecraft, but I think they should see it from a Survival perspective. What do you mean?
Ugh. I'm sick of people who hate on bats just because they add a bit of ambiance to the game.
So what if they spawn in light levels below seven? It's perfectly fine.
So what if they scare you? That's their purpose.
So what if they don't drop anything? They're decorative mobs.
The only bad thing about them is their suicidal AI. That needs some correcting.

I like bats. Hanging upside down in the shadows and being cool. Not hurting anything or anyone.
Bats drop exp. You say dosen't drop anything. I think it's because I'm British. I think People who live in England kill bats drop exp. It's a whole different story in America. Maybe you should go to England.
Is your post aimed at me? I did not understand your post. I agree with colorfusion.
I don't see people complaining about silverfish not dropping anything. Ohey if we are talking about survival aspects, lets remove ever decoration block in minecraft. That's what you want right?
I just hate bats, but how is that going to make minecraft removed them? Like sky fans hate squids and yet minecraft doesn't do anything, minecraft won't do anything about bats, even though they're annoying, squeaky, ugly pests.

I have, so how does that help? I kill a million bats a day, and nothing happens except they die.
If they did drop anything, they would drop 0-2 Bat Wings used in brewing with an Akward Potion to make a Potion of Flight.
(The time it lasts is VERY short, like 15-20 seconds. Can be increased.) Not true, just a suggestion.

So it's supposed to be useless?
Because we'd see these things everyday, not helping/hurting us in any way what-so-ever.
No, they're there for ambiance. Decoration. To add effect.
They are great when used in combination with other animals/monsters for flying purposes.
