Personally, I think CubeWorld is a fresh break from Minecraft. For those people who say "I'm bored of Minecraft" They can switch over to CubeWorld for a while and come back anytime they feel like it. Even though I cant run CubeWorld(just yet) I still enjoy playing it because it makes me feel like its that missing element in MC; Even though its nowhere near a Minecraft Clone.
To be fair, it's like a week out of closed Alpha.
Things like a storyline, world lore, quests and all kinds of things to do will be added along the way.
Well the way it plays it will be like a cubic skyrim in my opinion and I am bored of skyrim, and what I was saying is that I do not like the way it plays, as in combat leveling, etc.
I don't think it will... Minecraft is the ONLY game that has kept me entertained for a year or two.
No other game has kept me on it for as long as minecraft has. I think the reason for this is because you get a pretty much never ending world that you can do whatever you want to! You do have a never ending world in Cube World, but you can't terraform/build like you can in minecraft... Also in minecraft there is survival, I still find surviving very fun! There is no hunger bar in cube world, maybe there will be one day though...

Cube World seems more like a 3D version of Terraria than an adventure-based Minecraft to me. I havn't seen too much of it, but I really think it's competition for Terraria more than Minecraft.
From what I'm aware of, there are a whole lot of voxel-based games in existence and have been in existence even before Minecraft (for instance, Roblox, and of course Notch's prime inspiration, Infiminer. Also another one called Ace Of Spades, but that came after I believe). However, Minecraft was unique in that it allowed you to completely alter the world around you in interesting ways. So far, there hasn't been a single voxel-based game with this same quality that has been able to topple Minecraft's monopoly, and part of the reason for that is because they're oftentimes shot down as "rip-offs", even if they show more initial potential than Minecraft ever did (they rarely do though); but that's only if they garner that much attention. Other times, their developers simply quit their projects, either from real world problems, a lack of resources (most of the time, they're worked on by lone, unhired programmers) or just general laziness (I should also note that a lot of "mineclones" as they're called are often coded in C++, which is a much harder to learn scripting language than Java (which Minecraft runs on), but also runs a lot faster. This can have an effect, even if the developers happen to be expert programmers). Trust me when I say that Minecraft is a genre of its own.
They appeal to different sets of players or they may even appeal to the same set of players. Either way, I don't see Cube World becoming as much as an Internet sensation as Minecraft has severely dominated by this point.
The game definitely can put up some competition for minecraft. Also, Mojang actually shared the game on the homepage, which isn't helping their case. I think Minecraft is still at a point in momentum where players aren't willing to leave the game for Cube World. If Mojang stopped updating minecraft, and players became bored, and then a game like Cube World came out, it would have a real chance of overthrowing minecraft.
True, because the matter of fact is Minecraft regularly get's updated. I mean - who expected horses?

Notch and Wollay aren't bloodthirsty competitors, they actually have quite a good relationship. Notch even offered Wollat a job at Mojang. "Isn't helping their cause"- what you said there was laughable. Minecraft is inspired by and has inspired many games, I'm sure Cube World is one of them. Mojang has perfect liberty to post about Cube World.
They are both radically different games, however, with some similar aspects. For instance, in Cube World, you can customize your weapons, armor, whatever, and in Minecraft you can both widely, and narrowly customize your skin, AND the world you live in. Personally, I think Mojang could take a page from Cube World's book, and make Weapons and Armor customize able along with more customize able skins. (Make both arms, and both legs differently skinned.) That, and improve the combat system. I know we already have a ton of different possibilities for weapons, but right now, it's basically whoever clicks the fastest wins.
Asking if Cube World will "Replace," or "Overthrow" Minecraft is a tad misinformed. One is an Open-World RPG and the other is an Open-World building game. It shares those two similarities, and that's about it.
The developing page of "Cube World" actually states that "Minecraft" was one of the games that inspired it initially. You can notice the points that the "Cube World" programmers noted that worked for "Minecraft" and implemented it into the game to make it work better than originally hoped for.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Cube World" does have the some similarities to Minecraft, but does not replace it since it focuses on different elements that "Minecraft" ignores, e.g., Combat. Though "Minecraft" has a combat system, it has not heavily changed in anyways since it's early Alpha days and we have gained more changes towards the creative and exploration side of "Minecraft" than the combat. "Cube World" mainly focuses on the exploration and combat side which may pull people from "Minecraft" who love combat to their "side." I think "Minecraft" and "Cube World" could become a tag team of voxel games that push and pull the players onto either side where if you want to focus on your creative side we can usher you over to "Minecraft", but if you like the tough and grit of combat we can show you the way over to "Cube World" since it honestly has a vastly better combat system than "Minecraft" has.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has only been a week since "Cube World" has been released and only in Alpha to boot which has created mass positive feedback to the overall game. It will be a little while to see where "Cube World" will end up, we may find it to be as popular or even more so than "Minecraft" in the near future.
NO IT WONT even do it looks like mineraft!!!!!!!!!!
You're a very closed minded individual. I doesn't even look much like Minecraft at all.
Right now Cube World is in very early alpha and the dev is struggling with DDoS attacks so he isn't exactly focused on improving the game right now. So there's no way to know right now. The game could easily be a whole lot different a year from now.
