Ever since I updated my server to a new snapshot a few weeks ago I have been getting [SEVERE] "End of Stream" almost instantly after I start my server. Would this be a bug in the server application or is there a setting that I have on that is causing this? Also as a side note I have rebooted and done the basic things like that along with re-installing the jar file. Thanks for any help and sorry if this post belongs someplace else, this is only my 3rd or so post.
It has nothing to do with ports. I use a professional hoster, nobody is getting an end of stream error. It's just a constant spamming error in the console.
Are you sure you have binded the correct ports? I always get these SEVERE errors when my ports aren't correctly forwarded.
If it's in your client and the list of servers says the error, then wait a bit in the main menu and wait 30 seconds before reattempting to reconnect.
Yup I'm sure I did it correctly because when I run the server I can check my ports on any port checking website and they all say that it is open and active. Plus it would give me an error at the beginning. Also, end of stream may not even be the problem. All I want to do is connect to my server not using local:host

I have a 24/7 server and am admin on a 24/7 server, both run the bukkit dev build 1.6. If someone in the main menu has the server in their server's list, and it loads the server's MOTD and status, (or if they hit the refresh button) it sends a SERVERE message to the console, so this bug is known and I am pretty sure it will be fixed in the later dev builds, keep in mind after all, its a dev build, they have bugs!
I wouldn't worry too much about it.
This goes on all day for both servers I run:
2013-07-05 17:23:10 [SEVERE] Reached end of stream for /xx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I have my youtube channel's server and I used it when 1.6.2 came out. I was away awhile and now I'm putting it up again but now no one, even I, cant join. It worked fine when it was first released!

Same exact thing here.
Help!
Someone has already reported it to the Mojang bugs page.
I can also confirm it. It is also happening on my vanilla 1.6.1 server.
Hopefully it gets patched in the next snapshot. Personally it's not a big problem for me, just thought it was a little annoying.
