Whenever I try to create a larger map (item), it just gives me the same map that I currently have. I can't get it any larger than the smallest version. Does anybody else have this problem, and does anybody have a solution?

Hmm odd. so it just gives you a full map of the one your already filled out?
[EDIT] Make sure you are out side of the one map, as in make your marker leave the map.
That is exactly what I am doing but it just gives me the same one.
Edit: I am aware that it will have the same name, but all it does is just uses up 8 paper for nothing, and out comes the same size map.

Are your crafting or spawning it in?

Yes. So for example, I have map #3 and I surround it with paper, all it gives me is map #3 again.
I am on 1.5.2. And I tried going outside of the map and crafting a bigger one there but it still gave me the same one.
You are doing it correctly and it does give you map 3 back because it is map 3 but a bigger version.

Seems like a bug to me then.
That's what I was thinking... might just have to reinstall minecraft then.
Edit: Deleting the data files for the maps seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the help man
