If you could make your house out of 4 types of block, what type of block would they be?

I would use red bricks instead of white wool and birch planks, but otherwise I run along the same lines.

A simple way to approach things, I like it!

For me it would be made of birch wood, birch planks, spruce wood and white wool.

Oak wood, Cobble, Stone Bricks, and wool.

Eeehhhhmm, perhaps a bed block, a crafting table, a furnace, and a torch. Just basic necessities, if I was forced to use just four, I'd probably burrow into the side of a cliff.

Jungle wood planks, glass, end stone and lapis

Spruce Logs, Bricks, Stone Bricks, and maybe a wool of some sort. I can make planks, fences, etc. out of the logs, after all.

I usually like to use spruce logs, jungle planks, cobblestone, and torches.
